Belarus – Alyona Lanskaya has today revealed what ‘souvenirs’ she will be taking with her to Malmö. It is traditional that the all of performers take various souvenirs from their country to swop with other performers and give out during the competition as promotional tools. Belarus – There was a little faux pas on Alyona Lanskaya‘s Facebook page this morning as a helpful post telling us all about the Euro Village in Malmö was supported with a Eurovision logo… claiming Eurovision 2013 was in Stockholm! Belarus – Eurovision fans have been waiting to see what new songs Alyona Lanskaya recorded in London recently. Rumours have emerged tonight that the new song she will sing in Malmö is called ‘Solayoh‘. It will replace ‘Rhythm of Love‘. Belarus will compete in the first semi-final on 14 May. Belarus – is the first nation to choose their representative for Malmö 2013 and it’s Alyona Lanskaya with ‘Rhythm of Love’. Alyona thought she had won last year but was then disqualified when the President intervened in a vote rigging scandal and replaced her with Litesound. The televotes showed Alyona with more than two times the number of votes of the next act, Nuteki with over 10,000 voes to Nuteki’s 4,000. Watch the winning song… (more…)

Belarus – It’s become traditional that Switzerland are the first to host a national selection each year. This year however Belarus looks set to beat them to it. National broadcatser BTRC has announced that Belarus will hold their final on 7th December 2012. Switzerland will make their choice on the 15th December. The deadline for Belarus submissions is October 22nd.

Belarus: Special Azeri Breakfast TV Appearance

Belarus – Azeri TV had us crying with laughter this morning at poor Litesound‘s expense. The Belarussian entry was appearing on breakfast TV. Four of the band went to sing to the playback of ‘We are the heroes’ in the studio… with the CD skipping and jumping constantly. Poor singer, Dmitry, tried to keep up with it, Jacopo fell about laughing and another band member walked off! Although we felt sorry for them, it was very funny!

Belarus: Litesound replace Alyona Lanskaya in vote rigging drama

Belarus – In a dramatic day in Belarus, the President has announced that vote rigging occurred in their recent national final. He personally stepped in and has declared that the votes for Alyona Lanskaya were not correct. Instead the second place act, Litesound, will go to Baku as the country’s representative instead. Belarus – After a glitzy show which paraded many ex-Eurovision stars, Belarus decided to send Alyona Lanskaya as its representative to Baku for Eurovision 2012. At the moment the song is “All My Life” but this could be subject to change. Alyona Lanskaya previously won many awards including Vitebsk-2011 last year. (more…)
Belarus – Tonight another act will find out of they are going to Baku, as Belarus chooses its representative. Five acts will perform in the final at the Palace of Sports in Belarus. Belarus: National Final Changed To February 14th

Belarus – BTRC, Belarusian national broadcaster, have announced that Eurofest 2012, their national final for Eurovision Song Contest this year, will take place on February 14th, instead of January 31st. A press conference will be held in Minsk on February 24th to reveal more details about the final. Some of the competitors may still change their entries for the national final. (more…)
Belarus – BRTC, the national broadcaster of Belarus, today announced that the date of the national final ‘Eurofest’ will now take place on Tuesday 31st January instead of the previously announced Saturday 28th January. Belarus – The semi-final of the Belarussian national selection just came to an end. The show saw 15 acts competing for 5 places in the national final on January 28. The 5 lucky qualifiers will be chosen by a 50/50 mixture of tele- and juryvotes. The qualifiers are the group Litesound, Gunesh, Uzari, Victoria Aleshko and Alena Lanskaya. However, this does not necessarily mean that one of the 5 songs will be Belarus’ Eurovision entry in 2012: A strange rule allows the artists to change the song completely for the national final. Belarus – She represented Belarus in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf and only marginally failed to qualify to the final with her patriotic “I Love Belarus”: Anastasiya Vinnikova seeks to return to the Eurovision stage next year as she has been revealed to be one of the artists which have submitted an entry for the Belarussian national final Eurofest. “Shining In Twilight”, the song Vinnikova will be competing with was composed by Leonid Shirin and (more…)
Belarus – The submission deadline for the Belarussian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 ended yesterday. BTRC, the Belarussian national broadcaster, now revealed that a total of 90 Musicians applied for the competition. 55 of them are Singers and 35 are composers. The 15 semi-finalists will be selected at the beginning of December. It had already been revealed earlier that composers from Portugal, Malta, Russia and Israel are among the 35 hopefuls.
