moriska-paviljongenMalmö 2013 – Last night saw the talk shows at the Euro Cafe at Moriskan. Eurovision Times popped up after a long day at the arena to catch Austria and Bulgaria and are glad we did! Austria’s Natalia Kelly did a rousing version of Katrina and the Waves ‘Love Shine a Light‘ and then Elitsa and Stojan of Bulgaria treated us to some amazing drumming and four songs! (more…)

Austria – After what was a rather fun show, the country has decided that Natalia Kelly will be the one to fly the Austrian flag at Malmö. Natalia beat off competition from Elija, The Bandaloop, Falco Luneau and Yela and has won the right to perform in Malmö in May. The vote was decided by the Austrian public and an International Jury, split 50/50. (more…)

Austria - This Friday (15th February), Austria will decide who should follow in the Trackshittaz footsteps and represent the country in Malmö this coming May. The Austrian National Final, Österreich Rockt Den Song Contest, will be streaming live from the ORF Studios in Vienna at 20:15 CET (19:15GMT). Austria: Songs Online!

austriaAustria – ORF revealed the 5 songs in the running for their national final at a press conference held today. Yela, Natalia Kelly, The Bandaloop,Elija and Falco Luneau did not, however, perform the songs at this stage. The songs can be heard here. The national final is to take place on 15 February in Vienna, and will be streamed live on ORF”s official website.

austriaAustria -  ORF, has confirmed that the five Austrian finalists competing at the 2013 national final will have their songs available online from Monday 14th January. The five acts are Yela, Natalia Kelly, The Bandaloop,Elija and Falco Luneau. The national final itself will be on February 15th in Vienna. Backstage tours to the final rehearsal are  available from the OTS website.

Austria – Austrian broadcaster ORF, still associated to te popular radio Ö3 for the selection program, announced via Ö3′s morning show “Ö3 Wecker” the name of the five singers to take part in their national final, called Österreich rockt den Song Contest, to be held on 15 February in Vienna. Eurovision 2012 – Today saw the resumption of rehearsals by acts in both semifinals. Russia kicked off this morning. They got a huge round of applause in the press conference where journalists were watching on the big screen. They’d also brought a large cut out of themselves where you could put your face in and be a granny! (more…)

RussiaEurovision 2012 – Another day’s rehearsals have taken place at the Crystal Hall and reports coming through from Baku say the Russian grannies put on a good first performance, and Ireland had a nice fountain. Israel, San Marino, Cyprus, Hungary, Denmark, Austria and Moldova have also rehearsed. Pasha for Moldova got a bit racy. (more…)

Ten acts competed in tonight’s final, with Conchita Wurst & Trackshittaz going through to the super final.   Austria – So the ORF went for the third choice: !DelaDap will get a chance to win the Austrian ticket to Baku with a different song. The Gypsie swing band had been disqualified as the song they entered into the competition. Crazy Swing had been performed publicly before September 1st.   Austria – The Austrian national final has lost a participant today. The international swing band !DelaDap has been disqualified by the Austrian national broadcaster as their entry “Crazy Swing” has been performed by the band before September 1st. The rules of the EBU state that no Eurovision entry can be revealed to the public before that date. ORF says on its website, that the (more…)

  Austria – Ireland’s Jedward have reviewed all of the Austrian finalists in an interview for ORF’s programme Chili. The twins, who represented their country in Dusseldorf last year with “Lipstick” found it hard to focus for a while due to Conchita Wurst having a beard.   Austria – Days ago the Austrian radio station “Hitradio OE3″ revealed the songs of nine of the ten finalists competing for the right to represent Austria in Azerbaijan. The tenth act, a hip-hop band by German gangster rapper Sido has not been as its members will be determined through a casting show. According to Austrian friends we should not expect anything big coming from this. The nine other songs had been performed in a special “Kick-Off” event organized by OE3. (more…)

  Austria – This morning the “Mary Broadcast Band” has been revealed to be the 10th finalist of the Austrian national final this year. The official announcement was made on the radio show “OE3 Wecker” on Hit Radio OE3 between 5:00 and 9:00 CET.   Austria/Editorial – When I saw the picture I said (very politically incorrect) “Yikes“, when I saw a performance I said “Oh… well…” and when I saw more I said “She will go to Eurovision for Austria“. Conchita Wurst is a fictional character and has come to fame through the recent Austrian casting show “Die Große Chance” in which she came 6th, despite having won the second semi-final. Wurst (German for sausage) is a woman with a beard, which is exotic enough, but when you hear her sing it’s even more surprising. (more…)

  Austria – Today the Austrian radio station hit radio Ö3 has revealed nine of the ten finalists of the Austrian national final. The tenth place will be filled by a choice from an open call for songs which will end at the end of December. The national final is set to be held on February 24. Austria: Presentation of Finalists Tomorrow

  Austria – The Austrian radio station “Hit Radio Ö3″ will present the 10 finalists of the Austrian national final tomorrow morning in a special hour of the morning show “Wecker”. The show will start at 8:00 CET and will last an entire hour. You can listen to a live stream of the radio station: here. Austria returned this year after having withdrawn due to the disappointing results and the “low quality of the show”. Since Lena’s victory in Oslo and Nadine Beiler’s qualification to the Eurovision final in Düsseldorf, Eurovision has significantly gained popularity in Austria. (more…)

Austria: Full Voting Results And Charts

Austria – The Austrian national broadcaster ORF has revealed the full voting results from their national final. For many the victory of Nadine Beiler and her ballad “The Secret Is Love” was surprising but the voting results speak a different language. Beiler won both the preselection round with almost 35% of the televotes and in the final she got almost half of the votes, winning against competitors Trackshittaz and Klimmstein feat Joe Summer. Austria - The Austrian national broadcaster ÖRF held its national final “Guten Morgen Düsseldorf “.  After 2007 when Austria participated for the last time and did not qualify to the final, the channel decided that the Eurovision wasn’t anything they wanted to follow anymore, saying the results were only favoring the Eastern European countries. After Germany’s victory and the return of juries in the voting process of Eurovision, Austria is back for Eurovision 2011. (more…)

Austria – Tonight Austria will hold its national final to decide who will represent them in Düsseldorf. Ten artists, who have qualified from the radio semi-final, will compete for the Austrian ticket to Germany. After the first televoting phase, 7 songs will be eliminated and the Top 3 will compete again in a super final. The decision will be taken by 100% televoting. Austria: These Are the 10 Finalists

Austria - ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster has just announced the 10 finalists of their selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest. The 10 finalists were chosen out of 30 artists by a mixture of SMS and jury voting. Alf Poier, Austria’s representative in 2005 did not make the cut, just as the winner of “Germany’s Got Talent” Freddy Sahin-Scholl and the winner of the Austrian casting show “Helden von Morgen” Julian Heidrich (He had been 3rd of the public). The winners of the SMS vote were Leo Aberer and Patricia Kaiser with their ballad “There will never be another you” (more…)
