Hungary – Tonight sees semi-final 2 take place in Hungary’s national selection A Dal. 9 more acts are battling it out to secure the last four places in next week’s national final. You can watch tonight at 20.15 (CET) here. Check out who is still in the competition.
In each semi-final, the jury will first choose two finalists. The televoters will then select two more qualifiers out of the remaining seven acts. Yesterday the two acts chosen by the jury were András Kállay-Saunders and Gergő Rácz. Ildikó Keresztes and Laura Cserpes qualified via the televoting.
The jury includes Magdi Rúzsa (2007 Hungarian Eurovision representative), Philip Rákay (director of M1 and M2), Viktor Rakonczai (1997 Hungarian Eurovision representative as a member of the band V.I.P), Csaba Walkó (lead singer of Compact Disco, the 2012 Hungarian Eurovision representatives) and Jenő Csiszár (TV and radio host).
During the heats, previous favourites of the jury included Szilvi Agárdi & Dénes Pál, Gigi Radics and Gergő Baricz. Tonight they must choose 2 only. Who do you think they will support in this semi-final?
Tonight’s line up for semi-final 2
United – ‘Tegnap még más voltál‘
Fatima Mohamed – ‘Nem baj‘
Gigi Radics – ‘Úgy fáj‘
Tamás Vastag – ‘Holnaptól‘
ByeAlex – ‘Kedvesem‘
Janicsák Veca – Új generáció
Tamás Palcsó – ‘Ezt látnod kell‘
Agárdi Szilvi & Pál Dénes – ‘Szíveddel láss‘
Gergő Baricz – ‘Húz’
The final will be held next Saturday, on March 2nd, at 20:15 (CET).

I predict jury to choose in TOP 4:
Gigi Radics
Szilvi Agárdi & Dénes Pál
Keresztes Ildiko
András Kállay Saunders
Tamás Vastag has also chance with jury, instead of Szilvi Agárdi & Dénes Pál or Keresztes Ildiko, but I hope not instead of her!
Yay! I’m very happy (not to mention surprised) that Bye Alex made it to the final
It’s just a shame that under this bizarre voting method he will have no chance in making the super-final
, despite clearly having public support. In my opinion simply combining the results of jury and televoting would be much fairer…
At this rate, it looks like András Kállay-Saunders (45), Gergő Rácz (43), Tamás Vastag (42) and Gigi Radics (42) will make the “super-final” (or whatever it is called). From there I suspect that it will be between András Kállay-Saunders and Gigi Radics, with Gigi perhaps being the eventual winner.
In my opinion , there’s no reason for BOTH Tamás Vastag AND Gigi Radics making it into the super final. It would be at cost of diversity. Why 2 ballads of exactly the same style there?
Jury should just ditch the weakest one of them…
My suggestion ( diversity-wise ) for the Super Final :
1.Either Gigi or Tamas
2.ByeAlex
3.Kállay-Saunders András
4.Ildikó Keresztes or the duet
OMG I have just checked Mohamed Fatima performing in semifinal! In semi she performed and sand GREAT live..in heats she was weaker..she should DEFINITELY be in the final!
See, I thought the opposite. I thought she sounded worse in the semi.
Watching the performances of the 2 semifinals,i can safely say that i detest Magdi Ruzsa’s taste in music!
