James Mitchell TV James Mitchell TV – Hello everyone! I hope your country is doing well in the Olympics! (I’m sure they’re doing better than Ireland… all we have is drinking and fighting (… of which only one is an actual olympic sport!). Next up in the chain of reviews is Latvia’s “Beautiful” song… (It’s in no way beautiful):

It looks like, we have another Blogger with totally different Taste from mine:D

Come on, the Lyrics of that Entry were too less serious for such a Scorcher (nobody can title a Song “Beautiful Song” & be serious). The Melody was pretty nice.

Or do you give ALL the Songs bad Critics? Than, I will look forward to the Songs I hate;)

  2. james just want to say hi and that i spent about 2 hours last night watching you rip apart all the eurovision songs you reviewed. was very entertained! :) the only bummer was when i realized you only did a few. if you ever have time would definitely love to see more from this year.

  3. Efi says:

sometimes you are too quick for me (for my poor english)…
what you do is like a comedy ”reviewing” show and i wand to ask if you do that to your favorites too (if yes, can you post something?).
as for me, i whould love you to review that emo thing that won this year (i apologize to the fans, but!!!!)

  4. bobopickle says:

I completely agree. Abysmal song. And the aitport flash mob!? HA! Latvia seem to have a really shit translator or something: Remember this: “What for are we living? What for are we dying? Only Mr. God knows why.”

The video irritates me no end as well :-P .

  5. M - Right By My Side says:

  6. Efi says:

    • M - Right By My Side says:

      Hi!
No it wasn’t… it was some other dancing group, because my dancing group is currently in South Italy, in one festival near Naples!

  7. Efi says:

it was Kud VILA Novi Sad

  8. Rofl ! Hilarious !!! Better check the Greece and Cyprus 2012 review as well ! Lol !

  10. Enzzo says:

Absolutely not the kind of blogger i would belive his critizcm in… So not serious.

  11. togravus says:

LOL … very well done. :)

I really like the melody of this song but the lyrics make it almost unbearable. This is a case in point for everyone supporting the reintroduction of the language rule.

    • HAHAHA YES. I wouldn’t have hated it HALF as much if I didn’t have to listen to her butcher the English language! :P

      • Sam Smales says:

when your a English speaker (which I am, well done for working that out :) ) you always just think, well you shouldnt sing in English if someone who has spoken it for all their life doesn’t understand you, I know yorkshire speaks something different from English (which is English with half the letters missing) :) but still, I hate it. English gets ruined every year, by someone, and I love taking the piss out of them, so no language rule, its part of the fun

        • bobopickle says:

Sorry but I really have to point this out: You shouldn’t really slag people who can’t speak English properly as a second language when you’ve written “your a English speaker” as well as some other mistakes. Just sayin’ :-) .

          • I’m torn on this…I think people should sing in their national language.. but I also think people who speak English as a first language should only be allowed to slag people if they speak another language…. And in most cases English native speakers couldn’t bother less,,,

            • bobopickle says:

I HATE English speakers who complain when foreigners make an attempt to speak their language. The vast majority of native English speakers wouldn’t even make the slightest attempt because the think “everybody speaks English anyway”

I think the language rule should be reinstated. The contest has become quite Anglophilic recently.

              • Sam Smales says:

pointing out, your is the new english, shortened and other things. and if anyones allowed to ruin english, its english people, but sometimes it can be quite fun at eurovision

                • Sam Smales says:

I also make attempts at other laguages, tack, and i’ll admitt that im rubbish and if people take the piss, i wont mind because it is their language

                • bobopickle says:

It’s not “new” English, it’s incorrect English. What you clearly meant was “When you’re an English speaker…”

Your English grammar isn’t very good so you shouldn’t really be pointing the finger at people who speak it as a second language. We’re not allowed to ruin English at all, if we claim that the whole world should be able to understand it then why should we “ruin” it?

If you were to try and speak a European language, like genuinely made an attempt, I guarantee you that people wouldn’t laugh if you made a mistake, they’d appreciate your attempt and offer to help you improve.

                  It’s pure arrogance.

                  • Sam Smales says:

English is changing, 20 years ago people said are not now the younger generation, my generation are saying arnt, were using txt language and applyin that to everyday life, e.g. what are you doing today becomes wat u doin or wuu2, and people do say that in the street.

And maby it is English arrogance but i’m in a minority that do realise that there are other languages than Anglais :) , like Svenska, Deutsch and Espanol.

Its like wen it waz announced that French would be the main language of the Olympics, everyone in the Uk was horrified and everyone was against it, and i’m not sayin u shouldn’t ruin it, but sometimes the mistakes are funny, say if someone said Booze instead of Douze, u would laugh, wouldn’t u

                    • bobopickle says:

Not really. Your argument is invalid. Whatever.

                    • Sam Smales says:

or in new english, watever, it is a valid argument, so your telling me you wouldn’t even giggle if someone said Booze instead of Douze

                    • bobopickle says:

No I wouldn’t because the vote announcements are clearly rehearsed so that the English is, at the very least, understandable.

You say there was outrage because of French being a language in the olympics. Why!? Because it’s not a language everyone understands? So what!? Not everyone understands English so why should the world have to put up with a language that NATIVES can’t even speak properly!?

                    • Sam Smales says:

Yea, everyone was horrified, and I meant in real life, not Eurovision, for the Douze, Everyone was sayin “well why isn’t our own language, the language of the British people, the people hosting the games not being used as the primary language” and you know how much Brits hate the French, since forever, so yea, everyone did not like it. And the natives speak in their own dialect, you have Standard English, and then the new generation of English. Yorkshire English, Scotish English, Welsh English (I don’t Know if these are actual names), but even the different English accents can’t understand each other, the Yorkshire Accent and Dialect, sounds more German. And sometimes this can be a laugh, one of the people I know who is a geordie said I want to bomb you, as a joke and it sounded like I want to bum you, and we all laughed, very much.

            • At the end of the day, if someone uses the lyrics: “Googling, Giggling, Gaggling” I’m gonna mock them.

              • bobopickle says:

Yeah, fair enough and so would I. I was just saying that this whole “new English” thing he has going on is a bit bullshit.
I’m a 21 year old native English speaker with a degree in languages so I’m quite aware of English is and SHOULD be spoken.
                Just sayin’ :-) .
                Great videos btw, James!

  12. Gio says:

James I was initially glad to hear you were from Ireland. But I am disappointed by your reference to Irish people only being good at drinking. For others to fall into stereotypes is one thing but for us to support them is bad.
