Worst Eurovision Song Ever – Our ranking has come to an end and has found a winner in Dima Bilan – Believe. There are still some infos we would like to disclose about the voting. Who did not get a single vote and could thus be considered the best (or most forgettable?) Eurovision entry of all time. Which entries almost made the Top 15?
The three songs that did not get a single vote (The Top 5 of each voter got 5,4,3,2 and 1 point) are Italy 1964, Luxembourg 1973 and Switzerland 1988.
What do you think? Why didn’t anyone vote for these three?

The songs that completed the Top 20 were:
16. Germany 2010
17. Norway 2009
18. Spain 1968
19. Sweden 1991
20. Netherlands 1969
Sweden is thus the only country with 2 songs in the “Top” 20. The voting was very close at the very top with Russia, Latvia and Azerbaijan being within a margin of only 5 points at the end. The least popular decades in the Top 15 were the 00s (6 winners) and the 80s (4 winners).

What? Lena and Rybak 16th and 17th?? That’s a shock
By the way “Tu te reconnaitras” is one of my favourite ESC-songs EVER <3
It was a shock to me as well…
If ‘Satellite’ had represented Azerbaijan it would of been an easy Top5.
Umm what youmean ??. why would it ???
umm soo still no reason for your comment. You keep making Stupid bias comments
Italy 1964 and Luxemburg 1973 are among the really good songs that have won ESC and thus did not deserve to get any votes. (France 1962, Denmark 1963 and France 1969 should not have got any votes either imo …)
Btw, the complete ranking clearly shows that many people who voted do not know the old winners or do not care for the early days of ESC. It is quite absurd, the worst (or best) ranked post 2000 songs are Serbia 07 in 29th and Sweden 12 in 33rd place ot of 60 songs. It is a pity that people who are not familiar with the whole history of ESC always slightly corrupt the results of votings like this one.
“….many people who voted do not know the old winners or do not care for the early days of ESC”.
))) whatever….
it’s not only the early days…. it’s the entire esc before 2000!!!! what??? are we getting that old??? lol
“the complete ranking clearly shows that many people who voted do not know the old winners or do not care for the early days of ESC.”
Agreed and signed; sad but so true.
It’s really beyond me how someone would actually vote as: the worst winner ever, songs like Italy 64 (my 8th most fav esc song ever), Luxembourg 73 (my 41st most fav esc song ever), or Netherlands 69 (my 16th most fav esc song ever); Yeah…I know, tastes are different and…blah blah blah
well, Italy and Luxembourg did not get a single vote… so noone voted for them as worst winner!
You are right! I should have paid more attention on what exactly the article says
…but still some people out there voted for “De Trobadour”
Without any indication of how many people actually voted it is not really possible to discuss these results. If there were 50 voters, no wonder that there were countries that didn’t get a single vote. However, if there were 500 voters, then it is indeed an interesting question.
256 people cast their votes… I had problems with the conversion from Word to wordpress (ironically ^^ ) that’s why I didn’T add the points
I considered voting for (against) Italy 1964, imho quite an overwanked pile of cheese. Though I found five worse songs in the end. Germany 2010, Sweden 1991 and Norway 2009 so close.. I knew this, strongly assumed the former two would make it to the Top15 as well. Same with Ireland 1992 which fared (comperatively) surprisingly well on this poll.
It also would be interesting to see the amounts of points each winner got and which 1969 is which.
Could you write which 1969 is which? As you all know, there were four winners.. ^^
The French winners did really well. Glad to see “La la la” and “Fangad” almost made it! They should have been in the top 15 for sure!
Wow, the 0-Pointers are all still more or less famous. I thought, this would be very forgettable Songs. But I still can understand People voting for the new Songs, since they remember them best & maybe were more disappointed for their Favourites to fail, than for the Winner. I myself voted for 3 ’90s-, 1 ’80s & 1 ’00s-Winner, not because I don’t know the older, but there were so many Songs I liked better than them (my only Top5 that isn’t in Top20 is “Nocturne”).
Wait… Can u give the order of the four winners of 1969?? And I think this order is fair enough, although I would move some songs to the back of the list and others at top 20…
cause all 3 songs were good maybe!!

Thanks!
‘Non ho l’età’ and ‘Tu Te Reconnaitras’ aren’t the best winners in my opinion, but it’s quite okay that they were the ones with zero points as they’re absolutely deserved winners…
About ‘Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’ one can say that it’s at least a classic…
And sung by one of the best singers *fanboy* ^^
They were much better songs in 1973 than Tu te reconnaitras. For this reason alone it’s in the bad winners list.
I disagree… 1973 I only have Ilanit’s Ey Sham ranked higher than Tu Te Reconnaitras… In third place, I got Yugoslavia’s Gori Vatra, followed by the Mocedades and Monaco’s Marie… Power To All Your Friends in sixth place and then Gitte Haenning… my last place goes to the Norwegian Bendik Singers, they were awful…
but that’s just my taste…
In the pop era (that is, since 1965) the worse winners of all time were Ireland’s four victories during the 90s, especially ’92 and ’93. They only won beacause of english-speaking bias, threw the contest into a funk of middle-aged, middle-of-the-road faux-respectability and completed the contest’s commercial death-spiral that had already started in the ’80s. The abolition of the native language rule and vote by juries was the only logical outcome after Ireland’s orchestrated death by boredom, and in fact it didn’t come too soon (had to wait until the late ’90s).
Apart from them, the two worse winners were Denmark 2000 and Estonia 2001.
And the worst winner since 2003 is Azerbaijan by a huge margin…
delirium…
What?Norway 95 should not get a single vote as well.I also love France 77 and Ireland 96.Norway 09 is not the 17th worst winner IMO.Plus, that irrelevant song that won for Sweden in 1999 is only 24th on the list(sigh)…I voted for Netherlands 1959 but not may people agreed with me.
Netherlands 1959 is such a cute little number imo. Not a masterpiece for sure but among the best in a very weak year.
Well,i’m a bit prejudiced against the pre-70′s winners,i admit. Before voting in the eurovisiontimes poll,i decided to go through all the winners once again. From the pre-70′s i only really like Italy 64 Luxemburg 65,Denmark 63 and France 69.I also can listen to UK 67,Spain 68&69.My least favorites were Netherlands 59 and France 58&60.
I also don’t like Netherlands 57!
UK’s 5 wins
1967- UK viewers should have voted for Tell the boys
1969- BBC picked a good singer but let her down with 6 poor songs for the viewers to vote on
1976- Hate this song, CoCo who came 2nd in the NF should have been the UK’s song
1981- Awful, can’t see the appeal of this song and why it sold so well in UK and Europe
1997- Best in 1997′s Uk NF but no a big fav of mine
Do people think that the song that represented a country and won should have been that countries song.As in my above list, UK won in 1976 but I think CoCo who came 2nd in UK/NF 76 should have been the UK’s entry
Why is the Netherlands 69′ so low? That’s a great song! Are people just mad that Kuhr won alongside France and the Netherlands got to host the next contest?
Which one is Spain 1969? :-O
