Radio International – The Team of Radio International is back this week and would like to invite to join the weekly Ultimate Eurovision Experience to overcome to Post Eurovision Depression during the summer 2012. The Show is broadcast on 106.8FM and Digital Cabel 41 in the Netherlands and also via the internet via www.radiointernational.tv and will also be web-televised via the show’s own Live Video Channel via the website. The simulcast will be from 2000 – 2300 hours CET this Wednesday.
Interview with Tooji (Norway 2012):
Norway has a record in being on the anchor position at the Eurovision Song Contest and this tradition continued at the 57th Eurovision Song Contest coming from Baku, Azerbaijan. Young energetic Tooji represented Norway with the song “Stay” and after successfully qaulifying for the Grand Final out of the Semi Final Norway ended up at Number 26. Lilian, Roger and JP had the pleasure to meet Tooji for a second interview after his press conference in Baku. Radio International already interviewed Tooji live on the radio on 04 April 2012 in case you wanna flash back and have a listen to that interview.
Interview with Izabo (Israel 2012):
Israel was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 by Izabo. Founded back in 1989 the band enjoys many successes in their home country. The song which Izabo performed at the Eurovision Song Contest is called “Time” and did not do the magic trick and qualify the country for the Grand Final. The song – a 70s retro piece – only reached Number 13 in Semi Final 1. Lilian, Roger and JP met Izabo for an interview right after their first press conference which you can hear in this week’s edition of Radio International. Parts of that interview was also televised in Israel as Radio International found out shortly afterwards. Interview with Litesound (Belarus 2012):
Unfortunately, no success for the Belarussian boyband Litesound who represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song “We are the heroes” which only reached Number 16 in Semi Final 2 when only the Top 10 advance to the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Litesound are brothers Dmitry and Vladimir Karyakin, Jacopo Massa, Alex Kolchin and Ignat Yakovich. On 29 April 2012 Eric and JP previsouly interview Dmitr, Vladimir and Jacopoin Brussels at a promotion event which you can hear here. In Baku, Lilian and JP had the pleasure to meet and interview all five members of the band right after their press conference in the Press Centre. Eurovision Song Contest Spotlight – The Host Entries:
After reflecting on the 57th Eurovision Song Contest over the past weeks Radio International now continuous to present a brand new series with the Eurovision experts in the UK and Ireland to take you through the summer. The new series is taking a look at the entries to the Eurovision Song Contest by the countries that were hosting the contest e.g. this year the Eurovision Song Contest came from Azerbaijan and the Azeri entry = Host Entry is Sabina Babayeva. This week it is the turn of Chris Poppe who will be joining the team in the studio to take a look at the host entries of 1963, 1964, 1973, 1983, 1993 and 2003.
Euro Friends Song Contest 2012 – The Quarter Finals with Andy Simon:
Continuing this week with the Euro Friends Song Contest in search for the ultimate Eurovision song as voted for by the many fans around the world. Andy Simon is back this week to reveal the first qualifiers for the Quarter Finals. Home Composed Song Contest 2012 – Call out for submissions:
As in previous years Radio International supports the Home Composed Song Contest which is a songwriters competition across Europe and beyond. 2012 marks the 21st edition of the Song Contest and the 2011 edition was won by Denmark and this year’s edition is hosted by Spain.
