Eurovision 2013: Malmö Wants Answer Next Week

Posted: June 27, 2012 by eurovisiontimes in Sweden

Sweden – The battle between Malmö and Stockholm for the right to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 continues. Next week a delegation of city and region representatives as well as arena owners from Malmö will travel to the headquarters of Swedish national broadcaster SVT. They want to have clear answers on whether they may host Eurovision or not, as they have 3500 hotel rooms and several events that would be held in the arena at the same time as Eurovision on hold. For them every day more is a “lost day”

So we will probably know in a week where Eurovision 2013 will take place.

Malmö seems so keen to host it, give it to them.

  6. Jaz says:

The only thing standing in the way of Stockholm 2013 was the Svenska Cup, which is supposed to be held in the Friends Arena a few days after the contest (which would make it difficult logistically) but apparently the Cup can be pushed back to make way for Eurovision. In light of that, methinks it’ll be the capital.

I want it to be Malmö :)

  8. Scott Hirst says:

Think it would make sense to just do it in Stockholm seen as its the capital, suppose though its more handy is Malmo as it would be more easier for any Danish, Norwegian and German Fans , plus its further into western europe, but that last point isnt that relvant.
