Spain – The Spanish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, Pastora Soler has revealed in a chat organized by Spanish television, that she is currently recording an English version of her Eurovision entry “Quédate conmigo“. According to Soler, she asked her record lable about the possibility of doing an English version and they agreed. The new version will be released shortly.

This song does nothing for me (it’s actually quite boring). Pastora has an excellent voice though and I wish her luck.
She better record a completely different song.
Good luck Pastora! she is welcome to come back to ESC any time with more Andalucian sounding song!
Well I for one look forward to hearing the English version.
the split results are out!Sweden won both televoting and jury! http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=eurovision_2012_split_jury-televote_results_revealed
Strange results in the 1st semi!Greece was 3rd with the jury,Moldova 2nd and Iceland only 11th????Germany did better with the televote than with the jury!I didn’t expect that.Loreen won botht the votes!A clear and landslide winner!Italy and Spain were boosted(and deservingly) by the jury votes but they were very low with the televoting.Other weird results!Moldova did better with the juries(# 9)than with the televoters…Turkey was 4th with the televoters but 22nd(!)with the juries.Ukraine was ignored by the televoters(# 20) but was one of the jury favorites(# 7!!!)…Ireland was 10th with the televoters but second last with the juries!(Where is JMAMG?lol!)…Romania was a televoting favorite that failed with the juries while FYROM was also quite low with the juries.France received nil pts from the televoters but did ok with the juries…
On Pastora : I do not want an english version of “Quédate Conmigo” given Pastora’s background in english language. It would ruin a great song.
On the annual celebrations of nonsense called split results publication (which unfortunately happened yet again to further degrade the voting system) my first observations : The juries results prevail yet again over televote with more flaws compared to the previous years though.
First semifinal : Probably the most dissapointing. Albania’s prevail in the jurie vote is a sad musical fact. Moldova coming 2nd is weird but acceptable. Greece coming 3rd is sad as well, although that is made up in the final. Russia was held back a bit from the jurie vote but the televoting support was overwhelming. Hungary and Denmark scoring well and Iceland scoring 11th with the juries somewhat restore my faith into them and save the situation in the semi. Sad for Switzerland as well. Ireland qualified through both voting systems but televoting did a good thing here for once (same in the final). Overall a marginally positive result for the jurie vote here.
Second semifinal : Sweden all the way and Serbia the clear 2nd. Turkey got what it deserved in the jurie vote, same with Bulgaria. Bosnia scored better with the jurie vote as well which is great ! Estonia also scored better (well deserved).Joan qualifying with televoting is a surprise (although given the semi final performance I don’t know if its positive or negative). Ukraine is the major surprise both here and in the final, same with Georgia which are the biggest letdowns of the jurie vote here. Slovenia also scored better with the jurie vote which is releaving somehow. I never expected Norway to be a jurie favourite but it deserved better than Bulgaria for instance imo. Overall a positive result here for the jurie vote again.
The final : Sweden won by a small difference over Russia in televote – juries worked miracles once again ! The final argument about “juries voting for english songs” is falling apart this year as well with 4 songs in the juries top 6 being in a language other than english (5 that is including Italy’s bilingual version) and my only objection is of course Albania in that top 6. Other than that Sweden, Serbia, Italy, Spain and Estonia were well deserved imo. Ukraine is my other disagreement in the jurie top 10. Germany is a huge surprise, scoring better with televote than the jurie vote but I am glad such a great song was recognised by both votes. Russia was held back a bit thankfully and I am also glad for Cyprus’ result in the jurie vote since it provides diversity ! Greece got what it deserved with the juries, same with Iceland and partially Romania. Poor Norway did not finish last in any vote but that’s the weird occasions of the combined vote…The UK definately did not deserve the last place. Hungary and Denmark also deserved something better, while Turkey got exactly what it deserved – 22nd place sounds great for that song. On the most controversial ones :
Ireland : Along with Germany, the only thing the televoters got right this year. I don’t know why the twins failed with the jurie vote..It could have been that they did not see the song as very fitting for them unlike lipstick. I have the exact opposite opinion.
France : Anggun definately did not deserve nil points ! I am glad the juries awarded her something (much) better since “Echo” is far from a bad song.
Overall the main jurie dissapointments :
- Albania in the 1st semi and in the final
- Ukraine in the 2nd semi and in the final (this one can be explained by Gaitana’s amazing voice though)
- Ireland in the final
- Greece in the 1st semifinal
- Georgia in the 2nd semifinal
televoting dissapointments :
- Russia in the 1st semifinal and in the final
- Romania in the 1st semifinal and in the final
- Greece in the 1st semifinal and in the final
- Turkey in the 2nd semifinal and in the final
- France in the final
- Spain and Italy in the final
- Iceland in the 1st semifinal
- Estonia in the final
etc etc..
It’s already a positive result for the juries with the aforementioned exceptions..I will stay to the almost perfect top 10 and the drawback of Russia. To the positives of televote I have to mention Ukraine’s and Georgia’s failure which is a positive step towards objectivity and Ireland’s and Germany’s success. Still a long way to go of course…
Spain’s song was far from boring. This singer and song is what the ESC is all about. We had screeching and howling from Albania,2 boys from Ireland who cannot sing, utter dire from Montenegro, awful toe curling lyrics from Latvia and utter rubbish from the likes of Greece/Georgia/San Marino. It was Spain/Sweden for me this year.
The Spanish song was presented, sounded perfect this year and I look forward to the English version but think it will sound better in Spanish.
Pastora was amazing, such a wonderful song too. Pleased UK managed to give Spain 8 points. I voted here from UK. My number 1 for sure.
What a wasting of time.. :/
I look forward to the English version
<3 the Spanish . she has a great voice, i can really feel the sadness and power in the song
