Sweden – Danny Saucedo came second to Eric Saade in 2011 and second to Loreen in 2012 with his Melodifestivalen entries “In the club” and “Amazing”. After this year’s Melodifestivalen final, he made headlines as a sore loser not going to the after show party and saying things like “I would have done better. Loreen will not work in Europe”. After Loreen proved him wrong last Saturday his twitter and facebook accounts were full of gloating comments. He tried to calm people by saying that he was happy for her win, but again he told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: “I’m still convinced I would have won, too. I think any Swedish entry would have won this year. It was Sweden’s turn. But I’m happy for Loreen.”
Well, I don’t know about you, but I do not think he would have won.. But judge for yourself:

Danny is a big baby about the whole losing to Loreen thing. He needs to let it go and deal with it.
+1.. he should put his energy into a new song… to come second in melodifestivalen 2013 ^^ preferably to Caroline af ugglas
Caroline af Ugglas with a song in Swedish on home ground would be a dream come true …
Yes! And I think she would do much better than most people in Sweden and on ESC boards seem to think! This is my favorite song of hers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6hKAiz9Se8
I love that song too but my favourite is still ‘Snälla snälla’.
Dont think so either. He’d probably finished somewhere in the batch of uptempo songs like cyprus and Greece.
Well the Head of the Swedish delegation, Christer Bjorkman, told one of my friends on the plane home that Sweden had been planning 2013 for 7 months, so I guess they expected / hoped to win whoever entered for them. Make of that what you will…
I wonder if Danny will try again in 2013 now he’s been so bitter?
I am so glad because he didn’t go to Eurovision. I don’t like him
Caroline af Ugglas, Salem al Fakir or the recreation of BWO for the occasion, the three robbed runer-ups who should have done esc *sigh* I’d love Danny to come second to Ulrik Munther, the boy sure can sing!
Yeah, because Loreen won as it was “Sweden’s turn” didn’t they Danny? Nothing to do with her or the song? He is even more bitter than Anggun, Litesound and the BBC.
I know right, I doubt Danny would have done better than Donny Montell actually, around 15th-18th along with Greece, Cyprus and Ukraine, the shaky craps
It was Sweden’s turn to win?Really? Then who will win next year, dear Danny?I think he wouldn’t win anyway.A sore loser he is!
My god, what a stupid statement. With “Amazing” he would have been lucky if he got through to the finals!
I love Danny and I’d love to see him at Eurovision…but there is no way in heck he would have won. It wasn’t Sweden’s turn to win; it was Loreen’s, and Thomas G:son’s!!
S O R E L O S E R !!!
Even if it was Sweden’s turn ( as he says , maybe he knows better… ) he would never be a worthy winner as Loreen !
Thank you Loreen !
Er, didn’t Danny Saucedo see what happened to Tooji?
Exactly, Anthony. He could not sing ‘Amazing’ properly live with all those gimmicks and that heavy choreography. He should not sulk like a child. Loreen was simply better than him and the Swedish voters noticed it.
Björkman had laid out the red carpet for him, but it just did not happen. I can only hope that Björkman himself learns from what happened to Tooji and selects more good live singers with good songs for MF 13. Relying too much on gimmicks and elaborate choreographies is not enough.
I liked Danny’s song last year at Melodifestivalen and this year his song was even better but to be honest he didn’t sound that great live compared to Loreen.
The song has to be presented well including great live vocals. He would’ve scored lower than Loreen if Sweden sent him. The BBs of Russia would’ve owned him xD
No. If he went to ESC – Bulgaria would have made the final!! haha…. (sorry) :p
“Amazing” is a great song and in the final of MF Danny performed it great considering the demanding stage performance…I don’t know if he could have won of course but I doubt it..The trend was different this year as with the exception of Loreen it was more of a ballad year..I do hope he comes back in 2013 and gets the chance to represent Sweden on home soil. One thing is certain though : the 2013 MF is going to be very interesting.
I think it’s important to note that Danny 2012 was Danny’s THIRD attempt for Melodifestivalen/Eurovision since he was part of E.M.D. which placed 3rd in Melodifestivalen 2009. Face it Danny, it wasn’t meant to be!
Haha, no, he would have probably ended up in the bottom 10. He didn’t even deserve to come second after Loreen in Melodifestivalen.
So how come he did?
Meh. I have to say, it did look like Sweden’s year. Popular was huge, got the nation a foot in the door after a string of bad results and Sweden was on everyone’s radar this year. Amazing isn’t necessary superior to Euphoria but it IS far superior to Stay and, for that matter, Popular. Danny’s live performance in the final was a huge improvement to his performance in the semi (he had mic troubles, from what I heard). And it’s not like Eric Saade was brilliant vocally either–it looks like the only reason he sounded good in MF was that he was barely singing. But he improved, got some decent backing singers and sounded fine in ESC. Same no doubt would have happened to Danny, who has more experience singing live, being an Idol alum and not always relying on playback in concerts.
Amazing isn’t La Voix–the international juries didn’t like it as much as they liked Euphoria but it was the second favorite. It didn’t feel like an inferior rip-off of Popular like Stay, it felt like a natural sequel. So no, I don’t think Danny would have almost had a Rybak moment like Loreen did but I don’t necessarily think Russia would have won either.
well, i don’t know who deserved to win or something… either way, Danny got upset after placing second and that’s why he was angry, he spent 6 months preparing for this… to any who wants him to represent Sweden in Eurovision, join this page please:
