The Time:  The show will start at 21:00 CET!

The Place: Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan

The Webcast: For international viewers eurovision.tv will provide a webcast (no commentary) as well as eurovision.de (German commentary) , svtplay.se (Swedish), RTÉ (English-Ireland) and numerous other websites.

The Favourites: The performers most commonly named as favourites to win the competition this year are the Russian grannies, Loreen from Sweden, Nina Zilla from Italy (“Italian Amy Winehouse) and Serbia with their superstar Zeljko Joksimovic.

The Rules: Each country has exactly 3 minutes to present its entry. Then the televoters in Europe will have 15 minutes to vote for their favourite (at most 20 times from one telephone line). The televoting result will be combined with the jury results (the juries voted during the dress rehearsal on Friday) in each individual country. Both account for 50% of the result of each country. If there is a tie between two songs the country with the better televoting result gets the higher points. Each participating country, even those that did not qualify to the final, has 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10 and 12 points that they will award to their 10 favourite entries.

It’s finally here! Can’t wait. I’ll be supporting Albania, Iceland, Italy, Estonia, Norway, Azerbaijan, Romania, Denmark, Sweden, FYR Macedonia (<3) and Serbia. Almost half of the songs, the final is that strong this year. Good luck to all!
My predictions for this exciting final, from the UK.

01: Sweden: Good running order position. Different to anything else. Not a landslide victory though.
02: Serbia: Will do very well (not just in the Balkans) and should get decent jury support.
03: Italy: Lots of jury points, but not quite enough on the televoting I feel.
04: Russia: Televoters will adore them, but the juries should do their job and prevent a win.
05: Azerbaijan: 6-10th on both jury+televote should give the hosts a combined place in the top 5.
06: Germany: A well produced song. A third consecutive top 10 placing, but not another win.
07: Turkey: They rarely miss the top 10 when they're in the final. I'll go for a respectable 7th.
08: Greece: They never do badly. Not a potential winner, but televoters should like it.
09: Ukraine: Another usual member of the left hand side of the scoreboard. No different this year.
10: FYR Macedonia: They usually finish in mid-table. I think the juries will lift Kaliopi a bit higher.
11: Romania: Good song, but placed right after a break. It's borderline top 10.
12: Albania: The juries should heavily support Rona, seeing Albania's best finish for some time.
13: Moldova: 26th position should give Pasha a place in or around the left side of the scoreboard.
14: Denmark: Really unsure about this. Could be top 10 or bottom 10, so i'll go in the middle.
15: Bosnia&Herz: Good jury support, but the early slot could be a disadvantage with the televoting.
16: Spain: I don't think it'll live up to the hype i'm afraid. 16th sounds about right.
17: Norway: Whilst it has a good position (in-between two ballads), I can't see Tooji in the top half.
18: Ireland: Good slot, but Waterline isn't as good as Lipstick. No where near the top 10.
19: Estonia: Not much on the televoting, but the juries should help Ott to avoid a bottom 5 placing.
20: Iceland: With the early position, it may get lost in the pack. Firmly on the right side of the board.
21: Cyprus: Too early on to make an impression, especially with Greece coming later. Bottom 10.
22: Lithuania: Bad slot. It will easily be forgotten, but will get points from its usual friends/diaspora.
23: Malta: Good position, but I have a hunch it was a narrow qualifier. Bottom 5 is my prediction.
24: UK: Many good ballads this year. So I can't see it doing well on televotes or even the jury vote.
25: Hungary: The slot of death. I think this was a borderline qualifier and will be easily overlooked.
26: France: Can't see who would vote for this. I think France could be coming last for the first time.

And the big say is final here ! The day we have been waiting since the 14th of May 2011 ;) And we are getting the 60th winner this year indeed ! Thanks to 1969 that is..My excitement is over the top I have to admit ! As for predictions..well..I give an 80 % tonight to Sweden to win and the rest to Italy, Serbia, Russia (unfortunately), Germany and even FYR Macedonia honestly..It’s going to be exciting for sure ! I am hoping for a good placing for Bosnia, Spain and Ireland honestly…Last place contenders : Hungary (unfortunately), France (for the first time in their history..), Lithuania and Malta with Albania not finishing higher either (hopefully).

IVI WAS GREAT TONIGHT!!! I want her to win, but i dont see it happening…
My contry Serbia was decent, i see it in top 5, but not as a winner…
I think it will be between Sweden, Turkey and Russia, among which i prefer Russia… Go BABUSHKAS :)

  12. Dino Mil says:

    Almost nothing for Cyprus…

  13. Dino Mil says:

    Some early statistics:

    Cyprus beats Greece!

Greece is finally out of top10. They stuck in 8 years as happened to Malta in 1999 and Sweden in 2005. The reocord still belongs to UK.

And Norway meets the bottom for 10th time I think.

FYR Macedonia I guess receives its best result (points-wise).

Overall 8/10 of my top10 did it

I lost only Romania and Cyprus. Russia and Spain should not be there, especially Russia.

9/10 in prediction, I did not predict Turkey, I expected Romania instead.

Moldova 11th? Even if I had quite high in my list I guess slot 26 worked perfectly for them.

Also best result ever for Albania! Congratulations. You desereved it!

Early assumption. Look at the scoreboard! Where are the pop stuff (exluding Sweden)….down down….does this say smth?
