Azerbaijan – This year’s Eurovision is more political than any edition before it. Apart from human rights problems in Azerbaijan and the conflict with Armenia, the list of political issues surrounding the competition another conflict has just been added to the list. Azerbaijan’s neighbour Iran has criticized the Caucasus nation for its hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest this year and has withdrawn its ambassador from Baku. Iranian clergymen also criticized the government in baku for allegedly allowing “Gay Parades”. To this point no parade of homosexuals has been authorized in Azerbaijan (except Eurovision of course
) . So Azerbaijan is criticized in the West for not allowing gay parades and in Iran for doing so.
Anyway, enjoy the show tonight and be proud that you are fans of a show that the mullahs in Teheran do not like!

Hitch up ya skirts Mullah Mary’s, its time to party
there is another issue between Iran-Azerbaijan that has nothing to do with ESC and gay parade.. I think Iran still wants Azerbaijani lands back, and Az hates Iran for Armenia issue.. complex countries!!
Iran has withdrawn its ambassador? If the situation in Iran wasn’t as terrible as it is, I would go ROFL.

I wish I could care less about uneducated fanatic islamic bigots from all those oh so democratic regimes (including the one hosting) but it’s literally impossible to do so..Keep your ignorance out of esc please thank you !
La la la…bla bla bla who cares for Iran. I hope Tooji is safe from possible Iranian fundamentalists :p
Thank God he’s in Norway!
Well I thought Israel had the best song+best performance. I’m very sorry they didn’t qualify, especially when compared to the tackyness from Greece, the hollowness from Cyprus and the 3-minute-pure-crap from Ireland. But i knew beforehand that Israel wouldn’t qualify. My hot favourite never does. So, no surprises.
Oops! I posted my comment on the wrong article! :-p Sorry!

Azerbaijan insults me with their constant propaganda and locking up or beating up of the public or reporters who dare insult their ruling family.
The mullahs are such partycrashers. They should learn to woki their popo’s.
