  2. guitaristbl says:

Well not much time remaining honestly…I am finishing my preparations for tonight and I am still buggered if I should change my prediction or not as I really want to believe that Hungary can make it. I would make a daring prediction by leaving either Greece or Cyprus out and putting Hungary through instead.

So after months of speculations we will finally know the first results in a while ! I want to wish good luck to all the participants and I hope that they will all give their best performance on stage even if it their last one for this year’s esc. Tonight I am voting for Hungary, Switzerland, Ireland and Denmark. Enjoy the show everyone !

  3. dimitrisesc says:

I will be voting for Iceland,Denmark and Finland.

  4. dimitrisesc says:

You too Guitar!I post the karaoke version of Iceland 12 hoping to bring the lack! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFhj68e7USI&feature=related

  5. dimitrisesc says:

    *hoping to bring them luck!

  6. xello92 says:

Hi all of you, i havent been around for a lot of time, but i kept following ESC :D of course.
My wishlist for now (may change after their performances tonight)
    1. ICE ; 2. RUS ; 3. FIN ; 4. SWI ; 5. CYP ; 6. ROM ; 7. ISR ; 8. HUN ; 9. DEN ; 10. MOL
    My prediction :
    1. ROM ; 2. ICE ; 3. RUS; 4. DEN ; 5. GRE ; 6. IRE ; 7. MOL ; 8. ALB ; 9. FIN ; 10. CYP

  7. Steve Goode says:

Montenegro and Ireland are my bottom 2 of all 42 and both in this S/F .Lets hope they both go out.

  8. mermaid says:

Postcards and interval acts are my favorites :) Can’t wait to see them :) Good luck to all participants and even if some of them lose tonight they will have gained so many things that they will make use of for the rest of their lives :)

  9. Dino Mil says:

BBC commedators bash Rona…that’s a shame!

  10. Iceland was actually really disappointing, where did Jonsi’s voice go? Lame overall…

Seriously, Rona has killed all competition this year, it’s one of the best ever… incredible performance, incredible!

  11. stommie says:

    Great audience reaction for Rona.

  12. god what a terrible year… I can see Sweden, Italy and Serbia picking up every single 8, 10 and 12… only Albana rose above all the rest

  13. Moldova was the best surprise and probably the only surprise… oh my god, Austria was one of the best tonight, huge disappointing first semi! Only Denmark remained truthful to itself and Hungary’s vocals were great (but his pronounciation wasn’t) however going serious right after the grannies…

  14. Prediction: Iceland, Greece, Romania, Albania, Denmark, Russia, Hungary, Moldova, Ireland, Switzerland (or Austria)

Cyprus was dreadful! She has to be out!

    • so Cyprus was in, and neither Switzerland nor Austria made it, nor Belgium or Finland, poor night for the west, Israel, Latvia, Montenegro and San Marino failed too… I guess we could have seen it coming, we all hoped that Romania/Greece/Cyprus would not all three make it, with one of the Western songs making it (Finland, Switzerland or Austria) or just Israel for the fun of it… sad

  15. Dino Mil says:

    iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn CYPRUS!!!

What a semi. Pity for Switzerland and Finland…Well Hungary is in but I thought Switzerland was better. Denmark again mainstream but in, well I die to swap it with Finland!

    • Dino Mil says:

Where are the juries? Well having both Switzerland and Finland out, but Russia and Ireland in that means it did not work at all. I am sure Albania got votes from ppl as well.

  16. Dimitry Latvia USA says:

So I guessed all 10! This was my comment on “Prediction: The first semi final” blog entry.

MONTENEGRO – I like it just because it’s so much against the grain but it has no chance to make it to the final. NO

ICELAND – Haunting, beautiful, great song and great performance. Definitely in. YES

GREECE – Many people vote for this kind of music (and for Greece) unless she “does Emmy” and hurts her chances with juries. But I doubt it will happen. YES

LATVIA – Nice song but bad draw and not sure if the song would appeal to many. NO

ALBANIA – Voice will do the trick I think. YES

ROMANIA – Of course, it’s a catchy song and lots of neighbors to help out. YES

SWITZERLAND – Possible qualifier if only juries will help them. But I doubt televoting public will go for it, so… NO

BELGIUM – Another “maybe” here. I think juries might like it but televoters are unlikely to vote for it in droves. Might squeeze in still. NO

    FINLAND – Boring nonsense. NO

ISRAEL – The song is just so good, I’m hoping for it to pass but not so sure. NO

SAN MARINO – As much as I love Valentina Monetta and Ralph Siegel it has no chance. NO

CYPRUS – It’s a nice pop song that would appeal to many. I think this year Cyprus might get more points in the semi than Greece. YES

DENMARK – Anna Bergendahl almost made it to the final and this song is better than hers and the performer is better as well as the draw. So… YES

RUSSIA – Will people have no heart and leave my favorite song out? They shouldn’t. YES

HUNGARY – A borderline case that might just do the trick. YES

AUSTRIA – I don’t think Austria will appeal to many but should pick up a few points due to late draw. NO

MOLDOVA – This is one of those hidden gems. YES

IRELAND – It’s Jedward so expect to see the crazy twins on Saturday. YES

    So, my qualifiers are:

    ICELAND

    GREECE

    ALBANIA

    ROMANIA

    CYPRUS

    DENMARK

    RUSSIA

    HUNGARY

    MOLDOVA

    IRELAND

  17. mermaid says:

Congrats to all winners…Feel sad for Finland and Israel, happy for Moldova and Hungary!!!

  18. guitaristbl says:

God that was a heartbeatingg end for Ireland ! 3 out of my 4 favourites made it…It’s such a huge pitty for Switzerland :-( They really did deserve the final..I would like to make a swap as well : Albania for Switzerland please ! I got a 9/10 but I knew that it would be either Switzerland or Hungary..Congratulation primarily to my winners of the semi : Compact Disco ! And of course Jedward and Soluna ! And the rest of the participants that made it !

  19. mermaid says:

    I got 10/10 :) I think I know Eurovision by heart ;)

  20. Dino Mil says:

My top10: Iceland, Greece, Albania, Romania, Switzerland, Finland, Cyprus, Russia (sorry Denmark but I find the grannies cute) , Hungary and Moldova.

My prediction was: Instead of Hungary and Finland Ireland and Denmark!

In the end I got 9/10. I thought it was almost impossible for Hungary to enter the final after the thrilling performance from the Swisse fellow rock band.

Once agaian we have the same losers (San Marino Montenegro, Latvia, Belgium). I do not pity them, they should work harder next year (well Belgium did well but simplicity tonight belonged ONLY to ALBANIA!

  21. Dino Mil says:

    Good for you mermaid!

Tell me now your prediction for Thursday. Personally I have: Serbia, the FYR Macedonia, the Netherlands, the Ukraine, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, Estonia, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I think SF2 is easier to predict. Don’t you think?

Also did Ivi sounded to you awkward? Apart from y streaming going frozen in the beginning I was hearing her breathing…did you hear this too?

  22. Dino Mil says:

Guitar I just visited it. It seems our accounts do not work anymore…well I am too lazy to do the whole thing from the beginning. What a relax Cyprus and Greece in, I never lost faith even if there were only 4 envelopes and 4 big names not yet announced (my two natives, the grannies and the jumping tweens). I never thought that the jury vote (Finland) could sneak a ticket.

  23. Dino Mil says:

Looking to the results it is again 8 countries from 2011 final and two from 2010…No major changes. In second semi I expect a big change and this the Netherlands, a country that appeared in the final for a last time in 2004! I am really lookinf forward to go through. A second change might be FYR Macedonia a country that appeared in the final 5 years ago.
