    Hi Shevek and Marko
I will vote for Mistaken for you Marko.
I’m not enamoured by any of the Irish songs this year. Mistaken is very Celtic and she does have a rather unusual voice (though Dervish didn’t work before but then again the song and performance were dire)
Mercy is typical Swedish Euro fodder. Andrew Mann has a good song but am afraid it won’t cut it I don’t get song 4 at all, it’s so passé.. As for Jedward, I think they will get the ticket (though I did prefer Lipstick last year and it did look good on the big stage whatever people may think of them and their rather limited abilities). However, Waterline just isn’t as memorable this time imo but if it gets selected, am sure they will throw everything as well as the kitchen sink at it!

  2. Martin McGuinness says:

    No probs :)

Just to reiterate. I’m not crazy about any of the songs. They’re all okay but nothing that special imo. However, whoever wins I will still look forward to seeing how they are presented in Baku and will of course, lend them my support and get behind them.

  3. I even prefer “Mercy’ To “Waterline”, Donna was good live in 2005 and “Mercy” can have very good and effective choreography if they can find appropriate dancers, because beat is very good for choreographies..

  4. Martin McGuinness says:

I agree Marko and she is also a lovely girl who I met a couple of years back. She would deliver if given the chance but whether it would stand out enough against other similar songs am not so sure.

    • Hmm how many similar, there isn’t that much similar song to that one till now, nor I expect will be..
      ——————————————————————————————————————-
OMG belarus changed representative. Litesound will represent them!! And what about Alyona Lanskaya, she was winner of NF or not? :S Gooooosh, I will give them big fat 0\10, I won’t rank them at all (boycott)..it’s a SHAME! Anyway I hate Lietsound’s song so however, even if they went fair to Baku, as winners of a NF, I would still give them 0/10 because entry is shite! :(

  5. ALEX_AZERBAIJAN says:

Guys, Alyona is out! Litesound will represent Belarus! I’m so happy… :D

    • togravus says:

I am not happy at all. Litesound were my favourites in the Belarussian NF and I did not like Alena’s song but this is so unfair and humiliating. Poor Alena! Btw, doesn’t the EBU rules for ESC state that the selection of all entries must be transparent? BOOOO Belarus! Like Ukraine 2010 I won’t rank Belarus 2012 on my list. Finally, I would support the EBU if they banned the few corrupt broadcasters that spoil some of the fun … I doubt that the pople in power in certain countries have any ethical principles left. Btw, ALEX, do you think that it is ok to be happy if what makes you happy is a result of corruption? :(

    • Razvan says:

This is such a great news. Litesound to Baku, they really deserve it. :D
Now Belarus is up there in my top near Norway ! :D

  6. Martin McGuinness says:

Actually now you’ve pointed that out you’re right, at the moment but I still expect there to be a few female singersin the mix singing poppy/dance songs.

Why does Belarus bother with a nf if they change it like this? First with Butterflies and now this? I feel sorry for those who waste their money voting forthe original song only for it to be changed. It’s scandalous! Does anyone know the reason why for the change?

    • Patrick P. says:

There were complaints from Lukashenko (and apparently others) that he believed that Litesound won the televote and that Lanskaya or the broadcaster cheated in some way to beat Litesound. Unfortunately, he did not give any details, and I’m taking this reasoning with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, I will still rank it normally. I haven’t decided where I’ll rank it yet though.

  7. @ Shevek

If Danny’s costume is ridiculous to you, what about Hanna Lindblad’s then? LOL And when she is sitting on the stage and doing some strange movements on the floor! LOL

  8. ALEX_AZERBAIJAN says:

    My Top 10:

    1. Norway 10/10
    2. Iceland 8/10
    3. Georgia 7/10
    4. Belarus 7/10
    5. Malta 6/10
    6. Switzerland 5/10
    7. Denmark 5/10
    8. Cyprus 3/10
    9. France 2/10
    10. Latvia 1/10 :P :D :D

    Hi!

After having heard all the songs I must say that the Austrian final is a bit better than I had feared. There are some beautiful songs: “Stand up”, “How can you ask me” and “Vater, father, mon pere”. But my biggest favourite is without a doubt “That’s what I am” from Conchita Wurst. It’s such a good, fun and strong song! I love it so much! I hope that 1 of these 4 wins tonight. Unfortunately, there is also pure rubbish like “Woki mit deim popo” from Trackshittaz for instance. Sorry, but imo this is an absolute disgrace, an insult to the concept ‘music’! Their name says it all: this is pure SHIT, annoying, brainless and childish ‘music’. I’m so glad they lost last year to Nadine Beiler and “The secret is love.” That was such a classy entry! Please choose wise Austria!

    Good luck Austria!

  10. Banzai says:

    Hi!

A good final in Ireland this year with 3 very good song.

My opinion about the participating entries tonight:

    - Celtic Whisper ft. Maria McCool – Mistaken (This song is not bad but it’s a bit boring. The whole time you’re waiting for a climax that isn’t coming. There is something missing in the song which makes it boring. I think it would be a “mistake” if the Irish choose this as their entry.)

    - Donna McCaul – Mercy (A very modern, strong and well produced pop song with a lot of hit potential. I simply love it! The song is in line with the hits from Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy Perry, …. This would be a very daring choice for Ireland.)

    - Andrew Mann – Here I am (Good pop-rock song, but personally I think there are better alternatives in this final.)

    - Una Gibney & David Shannon – Language of love (Very strong and beautiful song! Their voices fit very good together.)

    - Jedward – Waterline (I can’t believe I’m saying this but wow what a great and strong song is this?! This song has ‘winner’ written all over it. A very good and strong pop song that screams ‘international hit’! What a difference with “Lipstick” from last year. That song was so annoying and childish. This song would end up even higher than “Lipstick” last year. I’m not a Jedward fan at all! On the contrary because I find them very annoying and silly. But this year I think they deserve the victory.)

    Good luck Ireland!

  11. Nicky says:

Oops … wrong name. The last 2 messages were mine. Sorry! ;-)

  12. Razvan says:

I also listened the song from Austria’s NF because i won’t be able to watch it.
Imo, James Cottriall’s song “Stand up” is by far the best and i hope he will win tonight. :D
I also liked some other songs like “Vater, Father, Mon Père”, “Don’t turn around”, “Einsturzgefohr”, but neither of them can compare with “Stand Up”.
    Here’s my ranking :

    1. James Cottriall – Stand up
    2. Papermoon – Vater, Father, Mon Père
    3. !DelaDap – Don’t turn around
    4. Krautschädl – Einsturzgefohr
    5. Mary Broadcast Band – How can you ask me
    6. Conchita Wurst – That’s what I am
    7. 3punkt5 – Augenblick
    8. Trakshittaz – Woki mit deim Popo
    9. Norbert Schneider – Medicate my blues away
    10. Valerie – Comme ça

  13. Max Raspail says:

Okay, for me, it’s !DelaDap in Austria and Maria McCool in Ireland…
of course, results won’t look that way in the end, but there’s still hope for miracles…

as for Belarus: hey, smart move, Germany should take them as good example and send the second place as well ;) … no, just kidding, of course, it’s typical and somehow poisoning the feelings one has with the Belarussian entry…
but in the end, I don’t know what happened – maybe it was Alyona herself who cheated (just like Mika Newton last year, at least, I had that feeling)…
the overall outcome is that Belarus will rise for me, Litesound are way better than Lanskaya…

  14. Suren says:

    Armenia will be winner in 2012! :D :D :D

  15. CC says:

Good song but it should be in Turkish. And the interpreter should not overplay his dance style. He reminds of me of tacky lml brat.

  16. Anonymous says:

Horrible voice, rubbish song. If there is any justice this shud stay in the semi finals and leave the place for a country that deserves it :-)

  17. Anonymous says:

    turkey will win this year
