Latvia – Anmary will represent Latvia in Baku, singing “Beautiful Song”. The results of the Super Final of Eirodziesma 2012 yesterday saw “Beautiful Song” beat “I Want You Back” by 2 points despite ”I Want You Back” being the favourite with the public.
The show was hosted by Walter Fridenbergs, Christine Virsnīte and Jolanta Strikaite, and held in Ventspils, in the Rio theatre building.The ten finalists were as follows and the three who went to the Super Final in bold:
Ruta Duduma – ‘My World’
Samanta Tina & Davids Kalandija – ‘I Want You Back’
Grupa ‘PeR’ – ‘Disco Superfly’
Triānas Parks – ‘Stars Are My Family’
Paula Dukure – ‘Celebration’
Andris Abelite – ‘We Can Change The World’
Anmary – ‘Beautiful Song’
Elizabete Zagorska – ‘You Are A Star’
Mad Show Boys – ‘Music Thief’
Roberts Pētersons – She’s A Queen
The voting was split 50/50 between televoting public and a jury. The super final result was as follows:
‘Beautiful Song’ – 22 points
‘I want You Back‘ – 20 points
‘Music Thief’ – 18 points
Last year’s Latvian representatives Musiqq performed, as did Swiss 2012 entrants Sinplus who performed their entry Unbreakable. There were also performances from the cello trio Da Gamba and from Olga Rajecka.
Latvia will perform in the first half of the fist semi-final on May 22nd.

A tad repetitive and childish, but she performs it well. I hope for much more better songs in the coming weeks.

Aww fs! I thought the show had grown up a little and stopped sending this sort of thing! Whats with these “Ode to Eurovision” songs still being spraffed out? …and I like Latvia last year too.. :p

She had totally different performance in the final, I liked both!
It was one of the best songs from the NF, but overall it’s a weak song. Latvia won’t make the final for sure this year. Last year their entry was much better and they still didn’t qualify in the Final.
some of the stupidest lyrics of the year… but the tune is catchy and nice and though she’s not that good vocally, she’s really stunningly beautiful lol
at least it was the best song in the top 3 superfinal, but PeR’s “Disco superfly” is one of the masterpieces of the year, totally overlooked and underrated

I can live with this choice. Unfortunately it was one of the best in their line-up but still very poor. Thank God it’s not horrendous Music Thief.
Anmary can sing it very well and she looked much better in the final but the show (especially the outfits) was ridiculous. They have to work on it!
