Georgia – From the 9 acts that have just performed in the national final in Tbilisi, Anri Jokhadze has been chosen for Eurovision 2012 with ‘I’m a jocker‘. Many of the acts were of a rock genre. Georgia will participate in the 2nd half of the semi-final on 24th May in Baku. Last year’s entrant, Eldrine, also performed on the show, as did Candy Music, the Junior Eurovision 2011 winners.
The finalists were:
1. Mirror Illusion – ‘Whisper‘
2. November – ‘Letter to a friend‘
3. Industrial city – ‘Broken‘
4. Leo Jee – ‘It’s my life‘
5. Edward Tatiani – ‘Hey you‘
6. Boris Bedia – ‘It’s life’
7. Vanilla Cage – ‘Breaking the cage‘
8. REMA” – ‘Feel me‘
9. Anri Jokhadze – ‘I’m Joker‘
Sabina Babayeva, this year’s Azerbaijan representative, also performed, singing Arethra Franklin’s ‘You make me feel like a natural woman‘.
The winning Georgian song was picked by televoting and a jury, each having a 50% vote each.

I don’t even understand how on earth Anri won.
This is one of the worst entries in years.
Oh my, Georgia … from top 5 on my list last year to the bottom of the pile … 3/12 and 14th place on my list for now. Excluding Morocco and San Marino with 1 and 2 entries only, there are only three countries left now that have never sent a total cr*p: Iceland, BiH and Azerbaijan!
I wish that was true, but we had “All out of luck”, “Call me” and “Day after day”… but yes, Morocco and San Marino are the true troopers lol, I actually used to dislike Icelandic schlager but since the 00s I love the country, Azerbaijan I never really liked any but never really hated any, and Bosnia is marvellously amazing, except for “Call me”…
As for Georgia, 3 times in my top 10, 4 songs I liked, and the 5th one is a huge disaster. Luckily for Cyprus, Malta and Ukraine, I think I may have found my dead last!
Cr*p is defined by 3/12 or less on my list. “Call Me” 6/12 (just average in every way) – “All out of Luck” 8/12 (I really like that one, very classy europop – sounds like a contradiction in terms, I know) – “Day after Day” 4/12. Thus AZE just barely escapes my cr*p category with their 1st entry, it is thanks to that extra point I gave for being shamelessly over the top.
I very rarely like over the top… like Croatia or Israel last year got to the bottom of my list because of that… I really hate Selma’s first try at esc, even more than her second, you can only understand by relief knowing Charlotte won instead!
I wont be Suprise if Georgia gouse in final because Belarus and Ukraine are in same Semi Final all them three countries douseant deserve the final
Quite lame, but not last on my list!
I LOVE Rambo Amadeus’s snippet!
It isn’t last on my list either. Gaitana will need a miracle to lose that spot. I really like Rambo Amadeus’ snippet too but it is so low quality that it is pretty hard to tell what the final product will sound like.
what crap Serbia sent to ESC for you?
Oh sorry, I felt that I had forgotten someone … None!
oh yes i love all serbian esc songs so far too :p
but without “Cipela“ entry from 2009
No, including lovely “Cipela” of course.
I do love “Cipela” for what it does. It’s the perfect example of a funny entry that is not a joke entry. France gave it 12 if I recall correctly! It is indeed the weakest of all Serbian entries, and the only one I don’t have in my top 10: 3rd in 2004, 10th in 2007, 1st in 2008, 3rd in 2010, 4th in 2011… but 2009 was indeed the best esc we had in the past years in terms of music, so hard call for Serbia, still it’s a good entry!
It definitely goes down on last place on my list…
The lacking vocal abilites of Compact Disco’s front singer seem to become much more bearable in comparison to this disaster…
@ Toggie
Can you tell to Ben Gray in Montenegrin article that ethnic elements in R.Amadeus’s snippet are actually Montenegrin.
especially the last one in the snippet…that is gusle instrument…
Done!
My dear Marko couldn’t you find a way to make a big come back?
No, not this time… and I don’t regret because so many comment there are horrible now…
Wow, it’s perfect. Go Anri!

OK. It’s for you—> 10. Hungary 1/10

Montenegrin song is really strange and fearful!
Georgia is such a big let down this year…I think they deserve to stay in the semi with that song so far I really love Iceland,France,Germany… Norway,Denmark and Hungary can also be added to my “I frigging love these songs” list
YOU HATERS THIS SONG IS GREAT BUT YOU ALL WANT GEORGIA AND UKRAINE TO LOOSE, JEALOUS PEOPLE YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS SONG WILL BE IN TOP 10 AND I AM A GEORGIAN WHO LIVES IN ANOTHER COUNTRY SO I CAN VOTE FOR IT THOUSAND TIMES;)
This one is a perfect example of the silly, nationalist and pathetic comments we do not need here.
Well said @ Togravus, some people are so touchy when others state their opinion. So far Georgia and Montenegro are at the bottom of my list.
That makes 3 entries I really hate…
I never understood Georgian love of disco-based tunes. Anyway, I dislike everything about the song. 2/10
1. Albania (Festivali Version)
2. Iceland
3. Italy
4. France (Studio Version)
5.Croatia
6. Denmark
7. Latvia
8. Hungary
9. Germany
10. Ukraine
11. Belarus
12. Switzerland
13. Norway
14. Malta
15. Cyprus (Studio Version)
16. Georgia
I’ve returned home to find that Georgia has made a surprising choice! I have mixed feelings about this song; it does not come across as a finished product. Parts of it sound good, but then it seems to lose itself in a maze of ideas that are not carried through til the end. Still it is better than the pointless contraptions that occupy the bottom of my list:
The love/like category
1. Albania (the known version)
2. Iceland
3. Italy (‘Per sempre’)
4. Croatia
I can live with them
5. Latvia
6. Germany
7. Denmark
8. France (studio version)
9. Belarus
10. Switzerland
11. Hungary
contraptions
12. Georgia
13. Norway (pre-recorded version)
14. Malta
pointless contraptions
15. Cyprus (studio version)
16. Ukraine
Georgia has made a very bad choice this year. The worst entry for ESC 2012 so far. My favourites from their NF was : Leo Jee – “It’s My Life” and REMA – “Feel Me”.
Now, my list looks like this :
1. Norway
2. Cyprus
3. Hungary
4. Germany
5. Iceland
6. Croatia
7. Switzerland
8. Denmark
9. Italy
10. Ukraine
11. France
12. Belarus
13. Malta
14. Latvia
15. Albania
16. Georgia
Somehow I smell it was decided before the NF…
Well, they had got only 13 applications: ok, it’s a really slim number but hey, quality over quantity… BUT seriously I have never expected such a poor line-up from a country like Georgia with all of their previous success in eurovision. That’s a HUGE letdown imo and I can’t find any explanation for this.
Good news for Ukraine they are not dead last on my list anymore. It’s reserved for Georgia along with Cyprus. (waiting for the Montenegro’s entry) *evil smile*
wow…this SUCKS….definitely last on my list and my faves so far would be cyprus, ukraine, italy and croatia
and the second caucasian country to miss the final is…GEORGIA!!
Horrible song.
