Iceland - Magni Ásgeirsson and Greta Salóme, Heiða & Guðrún Árný, the last two acts to compete in the Icelandic semi-final to represent the country in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 were chosen today. They will now compete with four more acts in February 11th. Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, the Icelandic national final, had three semifinals this year. Two acts qualified from each of them, and now, six acts will perform in the final and get the chance to represent the country in Baku. Here is the complete list of the final acts:
- Gréta Salóme and Jónsi – Mundu eftir mér
- Blár Opal – Stattu upp
- Regína Ósk Óskarrsdóttir – Hjartað brennur
- Simbi og Hrútspungarnir – Hey
- Magni Ásgeirsson – Hugarró
- Greta Salóme, Heiða and Guðrún Árný – Aldrei sleppir mér

And what a great final… I think every song from here (well, except “Sattu upp”) is better than the ones already chosen for Baku, Greta and Jonsi being my favourites
I knew this was going to be a nail biter after the very good live performances. Magni was excellent and classy ( whereas Svenni paled in comparison); I sincerely liked his live rendition. His song has grown on me. I think that Magni, Regína and Greta&Jónsi will duke it out among themselves. Good luck to all finalists.

yes Rosa was saved by the jury I think as a wildcard, proving that juries have amazing taste again
