Ireland: RTÉ to Announce Participants Soon

  Ireland – The Irish national broadcaster RTÉ is expected to soon solve the mystery concerning the participants of the Irish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The broadcaster, shall announce the five competitors on February 9, during the radio program Mooney. One of them will have the honor of flying the Irish flag in Baku. Two competitors are already known: One of them will be the hyperactive twins of Jedward, who will be mentored by the winner of ESC 1992, Linda Martin. Donna McCaul, who represented Ireland in ESC 2005 with her brother Joe, will try her luck again. The other three performers are not yet disclosed by the broadcaster. However, the girl duo Barbarellas is expected to compete as well.

Ireland will perform in the second half of the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest, on May 22.

    I’m from the UK, but far more excited about hearing Jedward’s song than I am my own countries..I think Jedward are great and can pretty much guarantee they (and Ireland of course) will be getting my vote should they be chosen :)

    I know it’s not about Ireland but I read the Israeli wiki and it says that Maya Bouskilla will rapresent Israel and that (english wiki) Montenegro’s song is “EURO NEURO”

    I am from germany but I hope that Jedward will win Eurosong nad that they go to Baku , they are known in Europe and have many fans in Germany/Austria/Denmark/Sweden/ Estonia/Russia…and some of these country are in semifinal 1 so I hope that they will come in the final show (though many vote only political tactics)

    Yeah of course UK will give Ireland 12 points, nearly always do and then we complain about other countries giving neighbourly votes.

    I really hope Jedward will represent Ireland this year again, because I’m from Austria (so I can vote in SF1) and I’d vote for them as often as I can :’)

    I’m from Germany and i really hope Jedward can go to Baku to represent Ireland, they would have highly deserved it (:= And their fans from all over the world will standing behind them and hopefully call them to promote. And of course I would vote for them very often (:
