Latvia – The second semi-final for this year’s “Eirodziesma” was concluded tonight in Latvia. 5 successful acts went through to join last week’s 5 acts in the final, which will be held next month. 10 songs took part this evening, hosted by Kristīne Virsnīte and Valters Frīdenbergs. After last week’s zany performances, including Paula Dukure dressed as a huge cake, this week was not boring either. One of the favourites was Mad Show Boys, who dressed up as one of the Beatles, a Pet Shop Boy, Marilyn Manson, Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode and Mr Lordi!

Awful!! All the song are awful! why do Mad Show Boys got jury’s twelve points?? I dont understand… I dont think Latvia pass to the final this year. Otherwise, I like ‘Beautiful song’
Since I began following the national finals in 2006 there has never been a weaker bunch of songs than the one Latvia makes us endure this year. Awful, simply awful!
Last year’s bunch played it so safe that I do not remember most of them. 2012 has a few good songs, but most of them were left behind. ‘Stars are my family’ are in the final.
But what do you think of Triānas parks’ live performance? It looked as if the witches had left ‘Hamlet’ for some minutes in order to participate in the Latvian semi …
The performance was silly, but there’s a chance that they’d do something completely different at Eurovision, especially if they decided to read fan comments or try to plan a show for a bigger stage in the future. Mind you, I would prefer PeR for Baku.
Shevek was also right in a lot of the good songs being left behind. “Freakin’ Out” and “No Limits to Dream” were my 2nd and 3rd in the first and stronger semi-final, and “Sweet for Me” was my 2nd in the second semi-final. I find all these songs 7/12 or higher. Of the songs that qualified, only PeR (10/12), Ruta Duduma (7/12), and Triānas Parks (10/12) have a 7/12 or higher. I’m also still undecided about how I feel about Elizabete Zagorska. I feel that I might need to see her perform in the final before I decide how I would rank her. Right now, she could place anywhere from 4/12 – 8/12 depending on how I finally decide I feel about her voice.
Yes, I think that I would send PeR to Baku after what happened. We’ll see what happens in the final.

Anmary go to Baku!!! She can qualify in Baku, that gimmick is not cheap for me and many ppl like some other gimmick in Latvian NF! Anmary FTW! ;-**

I kinda like ‘she’s a queen’ the only one I actually really love is PeR’s “Disco superfly” it’s incredibly much better than everything else…
