Croatia – After Nina Badrić had already announced via twitter last night that she would represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest, the Croatian national broadcaster HRT confirms the news today. Croatia is yet another former Yugoslav country that selects a national top-star to go to Baku. Badrić is known all over the Balkan and has participated four times at the Croatian national final Dora, in 2003 she came second with the song “Čarobno jutro“.
According to HRT, Dora will be a two-day event this year. The first evening will be dedicated to the 20-year anniversary of the festival and all winners will perform again. The second day will be the song presentation by Nina. It has not been revealed whether it will be a song selection show or simply the presentation of the Croatian entry.
Since 1995, Badric has recorded seven albums and has performed with Petar Grašo, Emilija Kokić and Hari Mata Hari.
Here are some of her songs:

I looove both of the songs I posted here! I think the Balkan will be very strong this year!
I Hope Montenegro makes it to the final
I love the duet with Hari Mata Hari. Very classy!
Most of her other songs sound ok or good to me too.
Another good choice! Perhaps more than 10 years of EGC (Eurovision Gimmick Contest) are over and we finally get a song contest again. Rona, Can, Zeljko, Kaliopi, Nina, Maya and Pastora are all artists focusing on the song instead of the show, and I like that very much.
Wait for Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, Greece e.t.c to crush your dream ^^
@togravus
and Rambo?
I keep an open mind … might be that I like him too if he comes up with sth witty (after all there is huge a difference between a witty novelty act like BiH 2008 and pure silliness like Estonia 2008 imo). If Rambo decides to compete with a song similar to the stuff I have found on YT, a lot will depend on whether I get it or not.
And what was the point of BIH 2008? Please explain me shortly!
1. it was quirky which is always a plus in my book
2. the visuals told a story (or even several stories) about love and social rituals dealing with love
3. it was ironic when it came to the representation of gender (in contrast to older men and only barely clad young ladies in Estonia 2008)
But isn’t “A BIT” sick that real brother and sister presented love in that way? :S
It is art and they are acting … so why should there be a problem? I know brother and sister who once played Romeo & Julia in Munich and they never had anything going. There is art and then there is real life.
Okay…
You are totally an expert
I agree with you
Hope dies last …
Good luck Croatia, love the country and like their entries, esp 2010 best wishes from United Kingdom.
OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!
:-****
The best singer from Yugoslavia!! YEEES finally good news for 2012!!
ASnd we won’t give 12 to Bosnia & Herzegovina FINALLY! YES!!
Now you have got two singers representing Former Yugoslavian Republics you really like.
Yes!
and they are the only I like till now! Anggun and Iris from Belgium are just OK till now for me, maybe songs will be better!
Everybody here LOVE her and know her, she performed here numerous times….
I’ll wait for the song, but what is posted doesn’t excite me (and it doesn’t make me cringe either). It’s good, and she’s quite talented, but she doesn’t grab me. The second song posted here almost grabs me, so there’s still high hopes that I’ll adore her. She’s a worthy choice either way due to her talent, and I wish her the best of luck in her bid at representing Croatia. At least they won’t be at the bottom of the barrel this year.
Check her duet with Dino Merlin, it will grab you 100%!
@ EVERYBODY
You can also check her duet with Dino Merlin:
NICE!!!!
Thanks, Marko! I like that song a lot.
This is the most popular song of hers in Serbia:
I hate them for ruining Dora and I hate this choice. She’s really not a good artist to me, everything I heard so far apart from Hari Mata Hari is bad and ugly. Thanks for the thumbs down, it was worth it.
lol
Laila I can’t believe you speak that, everybody here who are music professionals tell her voice is smth special and great, she was jury in so many talent shows…and she has so good live performances..
Who gave a thumb down to me and Toggie! GRRR!
“Carobno jutro” was really boring, but so much better than the horror croatia sent in 2003… since then she grew to be a better artist and can sing, so it’s a good news again! but I will wait for the son from Macedonia, Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia before I’ll make it official: yes the balkans seem to be really big this year… only Slovenia worries me
