Ukraine – Renata Shtifel is hoping to represent the Ukraine at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2012 after she has submitted the song “Malaja” for the Ukrainian national broadcaster’s national selection. The lyrics were written by Alyosha, who represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The composition is by Vadim Lisitsa, who also produced Alyosha’s Eurovision entry “Sweet people”.
In an interview with Zakarpattya.net, Renata disclosed that her participation was backed by an anonymous investor, who will finance the costs should she win the ticket to Baku. It was also revealed that 30.000 euros have already been spent on the production. A video has already been made and an English version of the song is being produced at the moment. Moreover, a team of stylists is working on a completely new look for Renata.
