Bulgaria– The Bulgarian singer DesiSlava (Деси Слава) is one of the 22 semi-finalists announced yesterday as the qualifiers for the Bulgarian national final. A video has appeared which shows a part of her performance in front of the Academy which chose the qualifiers. In the video Desi Slava is interviewed about her participation and says that the song was composed by Symphonics, which also composed this year’s Bulgarian entry “Na Inat” for Poli Genova. She liked the idea to work together with them for Eurovision.
She decided to participate as the last two years many people had asked her to enter the contest and on the Internet fan petitions were frequently asking for her as well. She always got invitations to the Bulgarian national final, but didn’t feel ready the year’s before. She says that she is taking a new direction in her career away from pop folk (Chalga). The song has a part with traditional singing in the beginning but continues like a modern pop song with rap elements by a male vocalist supporting her.

Sofi Marinova on the other hand sings a more pop-folk influence song, that has parts which could just as easily be part of a David Guetta song and are reminiscent of Mr. Saxoboat. Marinova says that she sings in Bulgarian music knows no language borders.

Those are obviously not finished songs yet. Looking forward to hearing and seeing the finished products in the NF.
Yeah that’s what I thought about Desis song. The other one seems more sophisticated.
I like Desi’s song… with a bit of work this may be on the way to be a good song….
I thought so too. Gosh! I am all alone at home with a cold … The good thing is that I had enough time to finish my review. Mission accomplished … now I have a studio version score and a live version score for every ESC song. Some have 12/12 in studio but only 6/12 live and others have 3/12 in studio and 9/12 live. *happily warbling Ireland 1979*
I liked both, but not so special..and if you ppl believe Desislava will have ethnic you are wrong, only her intro sounds ethnic…
Toggie I hope you get better as soon as possible!
Thanks a lot. I am not feeling that bad … but bad enough to tell myself that it doesn’t make sense to work. Well enough on the other hand to do nice things like finishing my ESC review. In the end, only 78 songs got a 12/12 from me based on live performances. In studio version I have more than 150 12/12 songs. I was very strict and still have my doubts about Slovenia 1997 deserving a 12/12. LOL Perhaps I will have to start all over again …
Hahahahahaha NOOOOOOO!! ROFL
I realy like demo of Desis song… It can lead Bulgaria to final again after 2007…
Sofi’s dance is so cute :p She’s doing the whole ‘squeeze in many languages’ in the chorus. I heard Turkish, Greek, Spanish, French just to name a few
WOOOOW really original, “I love you” in few languages! :S :S :S
really? I have to listen to that again… It was all a blurr to me…
Desislava go to Baku!! :-****
