Switzerland: Sinplus And Chiara Dubey to the Final

Switzerland– The Italian broadcaster in Switzerland RSI  held it’s regional final tonight in Serocca d’Agno near the Lugano lake. Seven songs had been chosen out of a field of 27 entries. These songs competed tonight for the two Italian places in the Swiss national final, to be held December 10 in Kreuzlingen. The two lucky winners were the band Sinplus and Chiara Dubey.

Sinplus presented a very catchy rock/pop song entitled “Unbreakable”. Even tough the song is in English (or so I think) it was quite hard to understand the lyrics due to the very heavy accent of the vocalist. The song has potential tough and I would say it’s one of the favourites in Kreuzlingen.

Chiara Dubey presented one of only two songs in Italian: Her ballad Anima nuova might be a bit too plain to make it to Baku tough. Her performance was quite nice tough, simple and emotional.

These are the results:

Made it to the Swiss national final on December 10:

Out:

  • Gianluca Solci – Giro intorno
  • Rossella – Here I am
  • Scilla – Masquerade
  • Vittoria Hyde – It’s your love
  • Laetitia – The big picture

I did not follow the show and I sort of gave up paying attention to the Swiss NF at this stage. The two qualifiers are vastly different, but I do not dislike them.

Good choice I think from Ticino last night. Good luck to Switzerland from UK.

  3. by far the best two of that “semifinal”… I haven’t heard any other swiss songs yet
