Belarus - The new Belarussian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 has been revealed by our colleagues at esckaz.com. The previous entry “I’m a Belarussian” had to be disqualified as it had been publicly performed in May 2010 at a university in Minsk. The new entry was written by Svetlana Geraskova and Evgeny Oleynik. Anastasia Vinnikova will perform the entry in the second semi-final in Düsseldorf. Here you can listen to the song:
I love Belarus:
.
How would you rate the Belarussian entry by Anastasia Vinnikova (5 being best):

Sound like a song that has been cobbled together within a few hours only. And then there are the lyrics … Belarus stays in my bottom 5 with their 3rd attempt too.
It does somewhat. However, 2011 has so many bland songs that I find myself not disliking this song. It’s nº 30 on my list. I am waiting for the live performance. Good luck.
it’s hard to lie, this is better than all the previous songs even if it’s not well crafted it’s way catchier… but yeah the lyrics, the whole organization, her voice, belarus remains in the bottom, but now above croatia, nothing can beat armenia as the year’s horror at least belarus is hilarious now i cant wait to show my bf!
Armenia is not that bad. If you leave out the lyrics of the chorus it is not worst than other chaka chaka songs we’ve heard the last couple of years
but she ACTUALLY goes chaka chaka makes me wanna wee myself each time! armenia, croatia, austria, the 3 horrors
For me it is Croatia, Slovakia, Austria atm with Armenia being in 35th place. I still haven’t recovered from what the Austrians have decided to send out of their fantastic line-up. Consequently I am still angry and unforgiving … and probably unfair to Nadine. Once I am over the Austrian choice and don’t feel like savagely punishing them anymore, I will probably move up Austria 2011 to around 30th place … At least, Nadine knows how to sing …
i feel the same, but will wait to see what “style” she decides for Düsseldorf!
Me too, I cant forgive Austria for not sending Klimmstein, such a multi lang. song failed!
And Belgium for not chosing Sarina Cohn!!
sarinaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I think Sarina could have won the all competition if she was chosen
or alexandre or steven or… the list goes on!
et claques les portes
and fen!! loved fen he came 3rd
With this slight improvement Belarus has climbed to 40th place on my list. Austria is in 43rd and last place now. Sorry, neighbours!
Still awful. And it’s still pretty hard to understand her.
At least it’s in a good place in the second semi-final for me to take a break and get a refill/something to eat.
Well it’s certainly catchy and over-the-top. Hopefully the stage show will be as well. Although I do have to say, it’s just not as … hmm, politically hilarious (?) as the other one. All-in-all, certainly not the bottom of my list!
This is how the bottom of my list looks atm (there may be some changes after the May performances):
30. Belarus
31. Slovenia
32. Finland
33. Slovakia
34. Ukraine
35. Romania
36. Israel
37. Denmark
38. Austria
39. Macedonia
40. Russia
41. Croatia
42. Ireland
43. Sweden
i agree, though sweden and ireland sound very unfair, you probably hav ther because people love them and that makes you very mad, i know the feeling
I have been giving these two songs many chances, by forcing me to listen to them once in a while, Morgan. I can’t find any melody that appeals to me, the vocals are abysmal and I stongly dislike the known stage presentations. I am not going to place them higher just because they sound modern.
No other chances for the Danish one:)
Roselil, I tried harder with my last two places, because I wanted to be sure that I was being fair. Denmark 11 was always easier to rank, because the song does not annoy me.
I forgave Toggie just few minútes ago, for being him.. now I can do it once again because its you
Peace!
Thanks, Roselil.
You are generous for giving these songs chances… I disregarded Ireland after few listenings…
I liked the first Belarus entry in the way that I could prank/torture my friends with it… it was bad in hilarious way. Ireland’s and Sweden’s entries are just plain bad (and both have the 2 on my scale (which equals complaint to human rights court).
lol you’re funny venus, how come i don’t know much about you?! hi, I’m Morgan
Nice to meet you;)
you too venus!
Thanks.
I stopped listening to both now.
still Political Festival Song material. As somebody who was born east of Berlin, it is kinda painful. I wonder if Anastasia was coerced to sing this… or if she believes it. In the former case I wanna offer her political asylum… than there is of course a option she is spineless little thing that would sell her soul to the Party just so she can sing and make money and do occasional trip to the west.
the clip :
the intro of this song sounds like dated greek pop music… could go in the 80′ies!!
unfortunately we can’t travel back in time… yet
I guess the Belarus entry will force us to that for 3 minutes..
it’s still 20 years more recent than “Butterflies”!
That’s true
and “Mama” is a timeless horror!
Well, in USSR today meant yesterday. I guess these days in Byelarussia today means 25 years back in time.
They may try to make the video edgy… but it’s still bad.
I like this song… This year (unlike last one) i want to see Belarus in final…
Is WAY better. And don’t pay too much attention to the whole lyrics, heh. The phrase “I love Belarus” is enough
:D
Well, it’s clear that this last version is better and catchier, but i’m still not impressed by the belarusian entry.
Belarus is 31st on my list now.
Lyrics for patriotism – 12 points.
Music – 6 points.
At risk of loosing my privilege to post on this site, I’m beginning to love this song. I know, I know … but seriously, one. catchy. tune. Don’t get me wrong – there are better songs in the competition, but this one’s on rotation
