Eurovision recap – We are entering the last week of the national final season 2011 and a few countries still have to reveal their entries. In this 27th edition of Eurovision recap you can find a performance of the Slovak entry, the running order of Melodifestivalen and Alexander Rybak criticising the latter, more information about San Marino’s entry and a possible disqualification of a 2011 entry.
.
Belarus - Anastasia Vinnikova was announced to be Belarus’ Eurovision representative in Düsseldorf with her song “I am Belarussian” (initially called “Born in Bielorussia” ). Just days after the lyrics of the song were changed, probably due to an infringement of the “no politics” policy of the EBU. Now new allegations arise that the song has been publicly performed on May 14 at a University in Minsk, which means the song will probably be disqualified.
San Marino – Senit will present her song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in a special show on SMRTV on March 11. The special programme will start at 20:00 CET and will last 15 minutes and feature backstage material and the official preview video clip. Eurovision fans will be able to follow the show on eurovision.tv
Sweden – The 2009 Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak has expressed his disapproval of the set-up of the Swedish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest “Melodifestivalen”. Rybak told the Swedish tabloid “Expressen” that he stopped watching the show when his good friend Elisabeth Andreassen came last in her semi-final this year. He also criticizes Eric Saade and Danny Saucedo for being to egocentric. He also isn’t surprised about Sweden’s bad results in recent Eurovision Song Contest as Melodifestivalen is all about glamour, show and being popular. According to him, Andreassen’s song was true and honest while other songs that qualified were not. He also criticized Fredrik Kempe for writing to many songs in each competition and not supporting his artists.
Meanwhile, the running order for the final has been revealed:
- Danny Saucedo – “In the Club” (Boström/Boström/Saucedo)
- Sara Varga – “Spring för livet” (Varga/Boström)
- The Moniker – “Oh My God!” (Karlsson)
- Brolle – “7 Days And 7 Nights” (Wallmark)
- Linda Bengtzing – “E det fel på mej” (Assarsson/G:son/Ringqvist/Barkman)
- Nicke Borg – “Leaving Home” (Larsson/Borg/Thomander/Wikström)
- Swingfly – “Me and My Drum” (Beal/Magnusson/Ramström/Silva)
- Sanna Nielsen – “I’m in Love” (Ljunggren/G:son/Michas/Boström)
- The Playtones – “The King” (Kempe/Kvint)
- Eric Saade – “Popular” (Kempe)
Here you can watch the performances!
Slovakia – A few days ago the Slovak entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 was revealed and now the duo TWiiNS have performed the song during the Slovak Miss Universe selection. Unfortunately they used playback, but nevertheless the video below might give us an impression of their performance in Eurovision:

i love how danny and eric are well kept apart
I really HATE Alexander Rybak!!! He is the worst thing that have happened to Eurovision!!!!!!! CENSORED did he mean with that Fredrik Kempe is writing to many songs???
Kempe is one of our best song writers!!! And I want to tell that Eric Saade is as long from EGOCENTRIC CESORED Last of all I can tell you tha Andreassens song was really really BORING! CENSORED You cant say that we in Sweden have got bad results when you in Norway have got the most last places in Eurovision history!!! Kick him from Lets Dance!!!
and i thought that nordic rivalry was only a lil joke…
Likewise… I never thought comments like that would come from sweet little Sweden…
i know, plus it’s really Denmark they’re supposed to hate :p
Why Denmark???
because they’re the two countries who have been the most at war against one another in history! http://satwcomic.com/art/pacifist.jpg
Ok.. I thought you ment something ESC related. LOL
Haha, brilliant.
i love them, they have a lotof very funny scandinavian clichés jokes and they even made a couple of comics on eurovision
The Slovak Miss winner is not very pretty.
Well, dear Anastasia, we had fun with your entry, we wondered, we laughed, we headdesked over it. I wonder if Belarussian KGB will not track down the person who revealed that the song was performed earlier.
haha ^^. Now I’m scared *brrr*
She really isn’t, girls in Czech republic are more pretty than Slovakian.
And TWiiNS (both) are also more pretty than winner, it’s sad.
And they have good performing, I believe that they have big chances.
There is making of video for Spanish song on Youtube, and final studio version is playing (in realy bad quality)… Anyway final version is a lot better, and Spain becoming one of my favorites this year… And it seems that video will be good too…
Maybe my taste is bad, but i starting to like Belarus entry (lyrics are very stupid though), and i hope it will not be disqualified…
As for Sweeden my favorites are Danny and Eric, and Slovakia could sound better with a little rythm change…
Sweden-sorry for my mistakes they are often and my grammar isnt good…
This week will be an eventful one: a new song from Belarus, San Marino, Israel, France, UK, Hungary and Sweden. There’s even talk of the EBU forcing Portugal to choose another song because of the no politics rule. I am staying tuned.
As for MF 11, someone is so very afraid of Saucedo LOOOOL
. MF11 is too much about glitter and too little about music:
1. Sara Varga (best song)
2. Linda B. (best vocals)
and then there’s the glittering and glossy brigade
Good luck, everyone.
This week will be great!!! I already love the French snippet.. and I expect a lot from the UK. I hope Israel chooses the French song ^^ and not Dana..
San Marino will be great as well I think. AAA it’s gonna be a great weeeek and the cherry on the icing will be the voting in Melodifestivalen… I mean its like a little Eurovision this year!
after the week end disaster (i hate all 3 : croatia, portugal, armenia and i don’t like russia or belarus) ill be glad to get some good songs again
sara could do it, she’s going 2nd like caroline and is different in swedish!
I wonder if there’s any news about Azerbaijan song?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwLucDsHpJ8 Ta-Dah! I hope this video of France doesn’t get taken down.
wow how did you get it?
I have no idea how the uploader got it, but word of mouth spread it around until it got to me
Yay, France!
Slovakian song not as bad as I thought. Elisabeth Andreassen and shirleys Angel should be in Sweden’s final.
