Israel - On March 8, Israel will be one of the last countries to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. As Vladi Blayberg has withdrawn from the national final “Kdam” because his father is very ill, there has been a change in the line-up: The Israeli broadcaster IBA has announced today, the void place in the final will be filled by Adi Casare and his song “Suicide for love”. IBA has also announced that Shiri Maimon, the 2005 Israeli representative will cohost the show.
These are the participants of Kdam 2011:

  1. Knob – Ohev et ze
  2. Dana International – Ding dong
  3. Hatikva 6 – Hakol sababa
  4. Adi Casare – Suicide for love
  5. Chen Aharoni – Or
  6. Michael Greylsummer – Tu du du
  7. Niki Goldstein – Amri itach
  8. Sivan Bahnem – Kach oti
  9. Adi Cohen – Al ahava
  10. Idit Halevi – It’s my time

The national final will be held in Rishon LeZion. The winner will be determined by a mixture of 50% tele- and 50% juryvoting. Dana International, the 1998 Eurovision winner is among the participants and thus might return to the contest if Israel selects her.

Israel will compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 12. In our own pre-Eurovision competition “The Eurovision Knockout 2011” Israel will compete against Spain and Croatia.
