UK: Eurovision 2012 in Cardiff?

Posted: February 7, 2011 by eurovisiontimes in United Kingdom

Rumor – According to internal sources at the BBC, the United Kingdom is actually aiming for a win at the Eurovision Song Contest in Germany. For the first time ever the BBC has selected both song and artist internally. The boy band Blue which was quite successful some years back will fly the British flag in Germany and some officials are convinced they could actually bring the Kingdom its sixth Eurovision victory. In that case Eurovision would go to the Welsh city of Cardiff. Due to the 2012 Summer Olympics, London was ruled out and as Scotland already had the honor of hosting a Eurovision, it would be Wales’ turn.

Meanwhile, in order to achieve this goal, Blue will tour the European television shows trying to win back their old fans and maybe even gain some new ones with their new song and Eurovision entry “I can”.

United Kingdom might have a chance to step in for hosting in 2012, who can guarantee the winning country have enough $$ to prepare for such a big event. If UK gets the opportunities, they can choose Manchester (MEN Arena) or Belfast (Odyssey Arena).

If we win ESC 2012 then how about the olympic stadium to host the biggest ESC yet! then that would definetly get our country in the record books, not to metion the amount of praise we would get from othere participating countrys. As the 2012 olympics would have already taken place it would be the perfect ESC 2013 venue!

what an absolute disgrace. the beeb has no right to select the uk act.that would require a complete boycott of the whole event. the beeb needs to watch themselves, this behaviour is totally unacceptable! the whole ethos of the event is democratic!
even iceland had a choice of 6 acts and they have a total population of 300k, escalated up that should give us a choice of 1200 acts!!!!!
blue, another bloody joke. are you serious? try take that, or even escala or hayley westenra.
