Azerbaijan – Ictimai TV has changed its formular yet again and has introduced another semi-final to be held this Friday January 28th. lhama Gasimova, Aynishan Guliyeva, Eldar Gasimov, Ilgara Ibrahimova and Nigar Jamal will battle for 3 places in the Azeri national final to be held on an unknown date. The Azeri selection is probably the longest one in the 2011 season. Seven week-long qualification heats, a semi-final were held to narrow down the artists to 5. Ictimai TV has also revealed that 29 songs have been submitted to the national broadcaster. The composers are from different countries.

They seem to really want to find the bestest song ever.
I won’t follow this preselection anymore because I think that the rules should be defined before the selection process starts and then everyone should stick to them. Those ‘changes, changes, changes …’ always smell of corruption imho. Anyway, I hope for a singer and song I like!
And I gave up following when they gave Nikola Barklay “hosptality” ticket to stay in semi…hopefully she is gone again! I will wait and watch only the performer and the song
