Worst Eurovision Songs - After revealing our reader’s ‘Favourite Eurovision Songs‘, we asked them to vote for their least favourite songs ever. A lot of people participated and over the following weeks we will publish the outcome. Today we enter the “Top 5″: The bubble gum pop group Scooch represented the UK in 2007. Their performance of “Flying the flag” included airplane seats, typical stewardess moves and some sexual allusion. At the end of the evening Scooch finished 23rd of 24 with 19 point; 7 points from Ireland and the maximum 12 points from Malta. This was the first time since 2002 that a UK Eurovision entrant had received the maximum 12 points in the competition. Malta later stated that the 12 points was a protest at how many countries in Eurovision voted for their neighbours

This was the most embaressing, pile of euro slop ever produced, shame on BBC, shamw on Scootch, it made the look so unprofessioonal, the song, was lousy, and they sung without trace…
learn from mistakes..Gemini, Daz sampson, sccotch..?? all terrible..

to think this beat that fab song from Cindy in the Uk finals, and to have the announcemnet cocked up by sir terry.
    disaterous,,
a grim year for eurovision UK

  2. Luis USA says:

Oh Cyndi, she was happy when she thought she had won then Terry corrected his mistake and announced that Scooch would go to Helsinki…:s

  3. bunnybiscuits says:

I always thought Terry’s slip was possible proof that the result had been rigged – they knew they didn’t stand a chance with Scooch, just as they knew they would not win with Josh – and I honestly think the BBC doesn’t want to win because it is too expensive and not financially viable for them to host it.

    • Yeah it seems to me so… UK seems consistenlly sending BAD songs. I don’t think it’s even matter of perspective, because most of their stuff makes one embarrassed while watching it.

So I wonder if the TOP4 songs are… all British? :D

  4. togravus says:

This song is in second to last place on my list of ESC songs 1956 to 2010. Thus I am very content to see it quite high on this list. I really despise those lewd lyrics btw which are an example of a very silly fun approach to ESC that is completely out of sync with the times and does not tell anything about what might be wrong with the contest but a lot about the taste of those responsible for this … well, I do not want to use that kind of language.

  5. MJ14 says:

This was the UK’s 50th eurovision entry…and unsurprisingly one of least favourites ever. :(

  6. Shevek says:

UK 07 reminds the worst decade of our favourite show – the 80s. The basic concept had its potentials for having been fun, but Scooch were not able to make it happen.

  7. Loveswissmusic says:

At least this is creative and 90′s-stylized like Aqua and Vengaboys. But the genre is not modern anymore nowadays.

  8. Jay says:

I cant even listen to this song, I really hate it that much.
It deserves it’s place on this list, if not, a little higher. I hope this is the highest rated UK act because nothing we’ve sent is as bad as this!

  9. Xello says:

Only songs that i like from UK recently is 2009 My time, and 2005 Touch my fire… I do not understand how such great television network as BBC send such awful songs… United Kingdom have a lot great artists to send as Pixie Lott, Alesha Dixon, Cheryl Cole, Sugababes,Alexandra Burke, NDubz, LEONA LEWIS, LILY ALLEN, MIKA… Why do they keep sending bad songs and anonymous singers, when they have some of greatest pop artists in the world…

  10. Roselil says:

I could easily find 10 more worse song than this…i dont agree with this ranking:-(

  11. 0_0 says:

I don’t think this is one of the worst songs in terms of ugliness, it is rather one of the most embarrassing, corny, campy acts. It also appears worse because they won over great entries like Justin Hawkins & Beverlei Brown who should have won! They would have rocked Eurovision! Cyndi’s song was nothing special. I just can’t believe Scooch won over Justin AND Big Brovaz!

  12. Richard says:

Yeah there’s plenty more worse than this one, at least it was fun. How about Andy Abraham or 2010′s entry if we’re talking about worst GB songs.

  13. Chad says:

This should not be in the Top 5 the UK takes a very tongue in cheek (yet the fan are secretly deadly serious) about Eurovision whereas the rest of Europe seems to take it as a matter of life or death lol I agree that we need to send someone who is properly talented such as Jade Ewen was… I understand there is a rumour that Charlotte Church or Katherine Jenkins are considering doing it this year for the UK. It’s a step in the right direction but we need to fly around all the countries promoting it as much as possible!! If people learn and love the song then we will stand a better chance of doing well. Perhaps Scooch could be their cabin crew ;)

  14. riikka says:

can you send me the fancard with scoochs real autographs to riikka to the adress riikka ruokangas lopentie 25 B 24 11100 riihimäki finland
