Lucerne – The 2009 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow has been nominated for a Rose d’or. It is the first time in over 45 years that Europe’s favourite TV show has been nominated. The category “Variety & Live Event Show” seems perfect for the Contest, produced (in 2009) by Russian channel 1 and the EBU. Other nominated programmes include: «Sharon Osbourne: A Comedy Roast», «Canada for Haiti» and «Ina’s Nacht» as well as 4 other live events. Whether the ESC can win this prestigious award will be revealed september 22nd in Lucerne, Switzerland.
